Aside from the OG black/yellow license plate on this baby, is the market really *this* strong for GS150's that a bike like this would bring $4500? I had always thought there were 3 price-to-condition categories for GS150s:

1) $2000. Could be a box of parts, could be just a frame, or could run (but needs lots of cosmetic work) and is missing crucial parts

2) $4500. Basically a bike like Adam's SS180 right after he got it - looks good in photos, runs, and you could keep it "as-is" for essentially ever and be happy with it.

3) $10k. Cream puff.

What say you, oh wise ones? (btw - I have no intention of buying this bike, so feel free to snap it up as necessary. I would like a GS150 someday, though)

So, i agree with you about your categorization. Sometimes people wrongly move their bike into one of the other categories.

For example, my clubmate bought a Cushman GS150 ..loaded up with original period Ulma crashbars and such ...original paint, and a solid runner... for $2700. That's one that should have been in the $4000-5000 range, IMO.

Then you have one like this, that should probably be down in the $2000 range. If it's not 100% original paint ( and good condition paint at that ) or a restoration with the proper paint code, then i don't think it deserves to be in the upper 2 categories.

That's my opinion. There's no way that bike will sell for that price. He MIGHT sell it at half that price.

Shame, too. Cleaning up the original paint that's there... and finding some cowls that match ( or painting them to match ) might wind up with it worth more.

$2500 for that scoot tops IMO. It's great that it drives well and had a rebuilt engine, but that's not a beautiful GS.
