Hi everyone,
i'm the proud owner of a Vespa LX 50 2t on an 08 plate.
I was on my way to college the other day and notices as i got to around 40 mph at one point the revs dropped and i lost some speed, this lasted about 2 seconds and then continued as normal.
After college that day, i was leaving and after 1 mile, the revs dropped and the engine cut out (making a similar sound to as when the ignition it switched off when riding).
I've spend two days trying to start it again and have been unsuccessful.
I have checked for any blockages involving the petrol tank or oil tank and have found no problem.
Any other suggestions will be much appriciated
Thanks

Sounds like the descriptions I have heard of the rev limiter.

Have you had that happen at 30 or 35 -- or just at the top end?

How old is your gas? I would recommend draining it and refilling. Check to make sure your battery is charged and the cables are snug on the battery.

Hmm...this sounds just like the problem I just spent 170 bucks fixing. Well, at least now I know how to go about checking/fixing it myself.

Check the plug cap - it may be loose or the cable may be badly connected inside it. The fault sounds electrical, not fuel related.

Thanks everyone, however, all the fuel and battery comments, i have already tried this and have had no luck. I have also checked the plug and given it a good clean etc. However the problem still occures.
I do agree, i think the problem is electrical as i have tried all the mechanical things i can think of, or find online!
