Hi, I'm in the uk, and my vespa s shows kilom's not miles on the odo! And the outer speed Reading is kilom's and the smaller is miles....
Is there any way this can be changed?
It would be nice if the odo read as miles. I have found where I can get a replacement dial, but wondered if it is posible to do. Or should I just live with it.

Ta!

Mine is the same way and it's all part of the charm. After you ride a while, you will stop noticing the KMH scale and focus only on the MPH and the odo...well.... it'll grow on ya! or not! Razz emoticon

Funny thing... if you need to convert KM to Miles, you can use the speedo dial to do a rough conversion for you. If you went 100 km to get somewhere you can look at the 100 on the outer dial and read the 62 MPH on the inner dial or you can do the opposite... if you have 60 miles to get to the rally, you look at the 60 on the inner dial and read the 100 KM on the out dial.

Also, don't forget that the speed shown on the dial is likely to as as much as 10% faster or "optimistic" than you are really going. This is why some real say 65 MPH Indicated as opposed to 65 MPH GPS confirmed. To my knowledge, this is common to almost all scooters and motorcycles.

I never use my speedo, It's always wrong anyways.
I have my GPS on a RAM mount over the speedo.

I have just become used to it. It does take a while but eventually it becomes second nature.

Live with it. Calibrate your real speed with a cycle computer (cheapest, a fiver from Halfrauds) and put tape marks on your speedo dial at the pertinent 30, 40, 50 etc speeds. Far easier to see at a glance than any original dial.

The odometer (if it can't be changed - unusual on MVs unless mechanical) doesn't matter a damn anyway, as you are not relying on that to keep you out of jail.
