I am thrilled with the purchase of my 2004 GT200. It had 681 miles. Really runs down the road---

It had gone over in the yard so the whole shield around the enginge was replaced.

Have a issue /question- when I'm slowing down and I tap the front brake there is a noise in the front end -kinda a popping sound, not in the brake-more in the front end sounds like in the top end towards the handlebars maybe. It sounds like somthing is LOOSE????
You don't feel or hear it unless you tap on the front brake-kinda hard.

Anybody hear or know of anything like this...

Have been riding it just about everyday and am wild about it...
I have a 1980 P200 thats in the shop and should be home soon after a long time setting and a stator issue...Got the engine rebuilt...So i'll have 2 Vespa's on the road soon... Laughing emoticon

Check your steering head bearing for looseness. Usually they are tight, but sometimes they come the other way round. If you can't figure out how to, take it to a dealer or mechanic and get them to show you.

Congrats on your purchase! I'm about to buy a 2007 GT200 with 330 miles. I just don't understand how people buy these great bikes and don't ride them!
