I have them, they work fine. My only complaint is they hold very little.

I have a pair of Cortech saddle bags that I like to use when I need to carry more items than will fit in the top case. Two main problems, more difficult to put the scooter onto the center stand and I can't get the scooter into or out of the garage with them on - not enough room between the car and the garage. And, because the stick out so far, I won't put them on if I need to use the freeway/Interstate.

I've had them on my scooter since the winter of 2006 and they've been there ever since...sun, rain, snow, gloom of night and all that.
They've lost their shape a bit, the buckles are a bit rusty, and they are a bit faded. But they've seen thousands of miles and several years of daily use so, no complaints. It looks like I'll get a lot more years out of them, too. Tough little SOB's.

The downside: Yes, pretty small.

The straps you see are adjustable, but you don't need to buckle the cover open and closed: There is a plastic quick-release clip under the straps to do the job easily.

This pic is from a ride I took last weekend.

Those bags look like they would damage the paint ... do they?

I haven't had any damage yet.

I don't wash and wax my scooter as often as I should, either.
I would imagine if you let grit stay between the bag and the finish you would have a problem. Since the bags are held against the sides with magnets sewn into the material, I just lift them up occasionally and wipe the contact area down with a soft cloth.

I guess you would have to do the same with any other style of saddlebag that rests against the finish, too.

I noticed that there was another thread where the size of the SX saddlebags was mentioned/bemoaned. I finally found a moldy old post of mine responding to a similar question so I am going to quote... me If for no other reason than to save me from having to go outside and measure them again... Razz emoticon

how much of what can you fit in there?
I use it mostly for loose items that I don't want to tie down.
On longer trips, Gatorade, lunch, (It's cooler than the pet carrier)
A towel (mandatory), rain gear or a place to store layered clothing.
And any odds and ends that I don't need to lock down.
Whatever.

It's no good for notebooks, laptops, etc. Too small.

This should help:
Figure about 13-1/2" to 14" wide and
7-1/2" to 8" high. They are not square.
About 2-1/2" deep, but flexible.

It doesn't sound like a lot, but the room really comes in handy.

They are made of substantial material, but I wouldn't consider them waterproof.
The main issue is the size...an issue because people tend to overestimate the size of the bags from the pictures, and underestimate the size of their notebooks and laptops. So the measurements should come in handy.

Also note: These bags have verrrry strong magnets sewn into the lining. I don't know how or if this would effect computers or similar devices, but I don't take the chance. Loose items that you don't want to tie down...yup...that's what they are best for.

Hope this helps.

I would be afraid of paint damage from friction. I just have a backpack that holds quite a bit if i need it. As long as i pack it right it works just fine.
