I see some new motorcycles when ignition key turns on, the headlight does not light up until next few seconds; this feature to prevent the battery stress during crank up the machine. Does anyone know any device that can install to headlight hot wire? This feature can help when battery is not full charged. Thanks.

+1

That should work very well.

Or one could add a headlight switch if more manual control was needed - but adding switches tends to be more fiddly unless there is a spare 'space' on the bike for one.

By following instruction, it keeps mention to connect power to low beam instead of high beam? Are there any reasons?

You'd start your scoot with the lights on high-beam?

I always use high beam, so I should connect to the high beam wire.

Best connect it *before* the hi-lo switch then.

BTW, I hope I never ride anywhere near you at night-time.

Connect it so that it switches power to the coil of the headlight relay. Then it'll work with "both" beams. And you could use a smaller switching relay.

Jim, are you saying we shouldn't be riding around with high-beam during the day as well?

Maybe a 10s time delay using a 555?
Run the timer off the position light.

no, he's saying that you shouldn't be using the high-beam around other traffic at night. the other poster said he uses it "all the time".

Mostly because of the high compression engine need lots of power to turn over and the battery can't supply it. Are you having a problem with your BV?

Correct. So he uses it at night 'all the time'. Not very friendly or safe.

Usage during the daytime can vary according to location. Not advisable in the normally murky UK - but in sunshine States possibly quite reasonable.
