Modern Vespa

Hey everyone,
I need a new chair for my Vespa, The one I have now has lasted 4 yrs and it needs replacing. It's a MacCabee with out the side table, I have looked and they don't sell them anymore. So what I was wondering is if anyone out there has one for sale? 8) 8)

Wire-brush or sandblast, repair, prime-and paint, get the fabric redone by a local upholstery place. Whatever it takes.

+1 GO GREEN! Don't kick it OUT! Get it powder coated at an outdoor furniture rehab place. Go for a record of use; try for another 4 years. Then after you make that, try for 2 more. Put a picture of your chair on your signature line or your AVI. We can all call you the CHAIR GUY from now on.

It doesn't look that bad! If other folks here can bring a rusted-out old Tetanus-ridden, antique, vintage Vespa full of holes back to glory, you can certainly resurrect that chair of yours. Make it shiny again to match the scoot.

Thank you all for getting back to me so quickly. I do LOVE my chair and so do alot of you. Some of the suggestions were creative, I just wouldn't know how to strap them on, oh did i just say that, anyways, I've had to replace some of the rivets with 10-32 screws and one of the supporting ALUMINUM tubes snapped and I have a pc of PVC holding it together. It is very comfortable since that fix. Don't you all worry your pretty little hearts about my chair, I'll clean it up just as shiny as ever. although I could still need a MacCabee chair for the garden.

This looks like a worthy replacement. Folded, it's about the size of a laptop. Available at R.E.I.

Simply because they'll replace 'anything at any time' according to their Guarantee & it seems like you need that kind of waranty.

OK... this has dragged on for long enough. Costco sells (sold) a chair to exactly replace the MacAbee.

How do I know? I have the same chairs, with and without the side tables. I am the proud owner of four of them...

Let's face the facts Yardsale. The chair is just like us---old, rusty, broken down and with some loose screws. Good luck finding a replacement. Jack

There's nothing like the old style wood beach chairs. I have one that is 30 years+ old. I found these for you. Mine is similar only it has arm straps and a back pouch. In my younger days I would carry a 12 pack and ice in that thing.

The type of chair I own and would like a new
one is like the photo. The back support is
detatched from the seat piece.

As I recall it wasn't cheap. It cost roughly $63.00 at Costco, the new
chairs don't hold my weight, I'm too tall at 6'5" and weigh in at 270lbs.
The chair has small extentions on the feet to raise it up so I'm not
crouching down to sit.
