Mac, if you had a truck and a big garage, you would turn into a big old scooter hoarder and never get a decent running scooter on the road. F--- that. Buy what you gonna ride and let some other poor scoot-less bastard have a stab at it.

Why are there no deals like this ever popping up around Chicago?
Did we consume all the old shifty bikes back in the 90's or something? |

![]() Well worth what he's asking I think, depending on what's in the boxes, what's missing and the actual condition of the floor from underneath. This pic gives me some hope that it's mostly surface rust and it looks fairly straight. C'mon RG, I think you could do it, maybe get the engine done for you but you could handle the rest. And, hey you got a running(?) scoot already so there's no big hurry. If it's close enough, at least go look. And take $200 with you . |

Perfect scoot to learn on... body and engine. After that you'll know exactly what you want in a scoot.

buy it and part it out.
Theres easy a 1300+ in fabrication, welding, panel and paint and thats before you know the condition of the engine or have bought all the small bits For a not very rare model, theres a lot of work in it. Whats the deal with getting stuff licensed there? Remember how much work yours was retro? This will easily take twice as long and cost a damn site more. but if your buying a super as your next scoot (it is a super aye??) then having a few spare parts around can be of use |

Seriously though, that's a pile of junk if you're gonna pay someone to do it. If it's a project to learn on... that's a different story.

^^^ nailed it
Do it yourself, watch scootnet & here if you need usually expensive @ retail parts, learn as you go and take your time like you did with your P. Great bike to do this with IF there's no rot because good parts shouldn't be too hard to find. |

A little more $$$ upfront, but this would be a good resto project. Rebuilt engine in 2011 and looks straight. If you could get it for $1500 and drop another $500 on body/paint, you'd probably still end up okay on it.

I thought the paint was a respray. That's why I figured it was a good scoot to customize. And it runs, which is huge. |

Yes, the rusty scupper is probably for me, I can't staple to pieces of paper together, never mind weld. I was just curious. It's about 3 hours away. if it was a little closer I'd pay a hundred for it, just to save it from a junk yard, and maybe do something with it don the road. Pun intended.

So waiting on a response from the seller, but looks good from CL.
http://greenville.craigslist.org/mpo/4942106820.html Rule of thumb I was taught was dirty engines were just pulled out running, and clean ones were pulled broken and investigated. Its 3 hours away but I think its worth the drive. |
