Would it be too much to ask for a screenshot of the Craigslist ads. Most are deleted by the time I get around to looking at them. I need them for my morning BM

Pinstriped Rally?
Very nice Rally! Is this pinstriping original? If not, it's a fine job regardless & I think it looks good on this bike.

It also shows up on the glovebox & cowl. But I don't see it in this picture. Maybe it was added later...

Sorry Antlerdance, cat's out of the bag. It looks to have a few coats of paint on it as you can hardly make out the frame numbers. I wonder what else is under all that. Mind you, it still has the looks of a nice scoot.

Pinstripes and legshield beading not original, but overall a very nice Rally for Florida. Oil injection on early 180! If closer to CA, would snap up, put a 200 top end and have a great new commuter...

That V90 is also very, very nice...

I've always had really good luck in NC. Mainly P series though. There's a barn in VA near Roanoke with 100 bikes in it. The guy was a old school Cushman collector or something then got into other scoots as well. He's probably been collecting since the 70's. Like I said, plenty of gold in there (4 GS's I remember) but he's old and wants to take it all with him to the promised land.....I hope I hear about the auction if he passes.

I did see a couple of P's when I was looking a while ago, but wasn't about to act on them. Probably also lacking funds to do so too. I like your stalking of the guy in Roanoke. Only 2.5 hours from Durham. Noice. you take the GS's and I'll bag the Rallys?

He had a GS frame with no motor and almost all the rest complete I really wanted and a 1966 Sprint bluebadge with less than 1000 miles on it as well I really wanted. I offered him $1,000 for the Sprint while I was there....he didn't budge on it. He had two Rally's I remember. One was his bike he was actually interested in riding but it had been taken apart and kinda slapped back together and wasn't running. Most of the really good stuff has been picked through over the years (a couple LD lambrettas left but apparently he used to have some TV's and other cool stuff including an ACMA? I think....some French scooter or something). My GL actually came from this guy. When I bought it the guy I bought it from kinda alluded to the guy and his eccentricities....a year or so later I met him completely randomly and checked out his airplane hangar (complete with Piper Cub and all these bikes) and that's when I tried to buy that Sprint. Funny how the world works...I called the seller of my GL and we chatted for awhile about the hangar and the myth that surrounds this collector. ......I really shouldn't say anymore or the vultures will start circling!

There's a guy like that just outside Cape May, NJ. I've seen like 50 of his scoots, but I suspect he has way more he isn't showing from little comments he makes. This guy doesn't want to sell anything but says he does. Kind of makes sense... you don't end up with 50+ bikes selling them off.

First time I went over he gave me a phone interview. Laughing emoticon

Blue Rally
Ok, I admit, I won the rally on flea bay. No bidder program. Just had a higher max bid set and placed it with 20 seconds left to take in account how eBay isn't always accurate with their timing.

Great scoot, but there was some drama after. As you recall it said it "ran well". What they meant was it "ran well over three years ago and not since I've owned it." It didn't even have a spark plug in it. The guy took it as partial trade from a guy using it as a display piece.

I cleaned the tank. Had to rebuild the carb. Compression was 90 so it's getting new rings in a few days, and I'm still hunting for a seat. Timing was off, great oil was thick, etc. That scooter is up over $2K now!

Good news is that all seals are great, the electronics are original and in awesome shape, and the body is good. It's easy to see they only painted it because they hated the Taxi cab yellow color.

Yeah. I set my max bid to 1799 and with 20 or so left I hit the bid button. I was surprised that the next jump, my bid from 1615 to 1640, was all it took.

Mama wasn't pleased though. Between my other scoot and an ongoing vintage car resto I will likely be moving her on.
