Not a lot of small frame knowledge, but looks interesting...
well, it's sorta all there. but i don't know if that's really a 90. it might be a 100 sport, which truthfully would be better.

but yeah, a back yard rattlebomb job and it's missing some bits and no tags? i'd roll up with $500 cash.

Now THAT is a bargain if it is as said. 750 for a Rally? just needs a clutch and an engine split and refresh (which most people would do anyway to ensure seals etc are good). Someone should be on that quickly.

Nice find MJ

1958 Vespa 150 project or parts bike - $500 (New Rochelle)

Selling this 1958 Vespa 150 (Model VBA). The frame has serious rust in the floor and a few other areas. It is repairable, but a difficult job. The bike is nearly complete, as shown in photos. The engine is seized, and will have to be completely rebuilt. Restore it, part it out, or turn it into an awesome sculpture. Cash is king, but trade offers are welcome too. No keys, no title -- sold on bill of sale only -- but with a bike this old, New York does not require a title to register it anyway.

Cool looking scoot, but it's not worth $500. No title, siezed motor, terrible rust. That's just a parts bike and not much there to scream home about. I would pay $200 for the yard art factor.

Larry, post 'm up! I love seeing cheap old scooters that need rescuing. That bike is just what usually tempts me to look further if close by. But not when I see this:

fixable?
External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text
not so much.

If the floor rot hadn't gone up & ruined most of the tunnel too, it might be doable if the rest was all fixable, but the price is still too high. 200 is generous considering all the problems. That said, I would take the tail light, plus link cover and the engine cowl while I'm picking. He can keep the rest.

1988 Cosa LX 125/FL deal or no deal?
Managed to get a fairly nice Cosa from a "younger thst my age" guy. He managed to get it started and running by leaning the machine to the engine side before cranking it. It took about 4 or 5 attempts but it ran. Papers and the original Italian booklet came with it. I got it home and managed to get the thing running but it would only crap out on me after 30 seconds of life. I wondered if his old gas in the tank had something to do with it. I also noticed the throttle grip was really limp. Busted cable? Note the nasty rash n broken moulding from a transport in a truck done wrong -scooter was tied to the side of a truck in the container and wasn't secured well. 650 CAD-was it worth it or just a cosa lotta frustrazione? Are the rare finds? Pucs to follow as i try to reduce the pic size on my phone.

Yeah - leaning to the side has to do with the auto choke or fuel tap AFAIK. Thats a good deal. Cosa is ugly but actually a really good scooter. Not sure about throttle cable. I would clean that bad boy up, get straightened out and ride it!

First Vespa - 2006 LX 150
Looking to purchase first Vespa. Looking for expertise as to market value for the listing. Dragon Red 2006 LX 150 with foot mats, rear rack, and helmet. 1,500 miles. Excellent condition. Clean title. Ad said he recently replaced battery and got it serviced. They want $2000. Is that a fair price?

Hi ggv,
This isn't really the right sub-forum for this - first of all, that's not a "vintage" bike - this forum is oriented around manual-transmission scooters, and typically of an older age. If I were you, I'd post this in the (modern Vespa oriented) General Discussion section. If, however, you do want an older bike, I encourage you to hang around this forum and get to know what their defining features are so you can better search for a scooter to buy!

Is that one of them later model PX's or it could be a bodge?

All the accessories necessary to replicate a Sting Rally ... except chrome-able GS 160 cowls ... which, amazingly, are available too.

Kind of amazing. Even the crash bars are original or exact replicas.

All ribbing aside that is a pretty good price for that scooter. I'd offer them 1,600 and see where it goes from there.
