that is a solid bike, i'd generally be like /oh, well, i'd like it at a grand/ but with the condition of the paint, work to the loom, the state/tune of the engine, it'd be worth it. i'd probably still haggle it to 1.5k.

i'm with you in that i'd pull the trigger at 1K without blinking, 1.5 is still a decent deal.

personally i'd show with 12ish and nit pick some nonsense and then wheel it away at 14 + change.\

... but knowing that I'm gonna be putting 1K into the thing over the next year...

Schnectady NY $600

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

This is a barn find. All the parts are there. This is a large framed Vespa. Engine is 180cc. This is a VSC1T which means it is a Vespa Super Sport, ("SS180"). This special edition comes with the bigger motor than most Vespas which are 150cc. It is a perfect project bike.

One More.... $900 in the Philly area

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

I am selling my 1964 Vespa Allstate, was a "barn find" about 8 years ago, and was reworked by a local scooter mechanic as well as Pat Guagenti, who was the master mechanic at Scooterworks in Chicago, he moved east and wrenched for a bit before passing on to that great scooter rally in the sky. Hasn't been started in a few years, but will with a bit of good fuel and a good plug, and has a ton of brand new parts. Engine rebuilt, new flywheel, cruciform, top end, new tires, etc. Has been stored for a few years, needs a new home. No title, come down with cash and take 'er away.

More likely a Rally 200, look at the autolube gas tank w/ the bulge on top, giant horn & the block lettering on the leggy. Still a great deal!

Even better deal really....A Rally is a pretty straightforward largeframe rebuild....I just watched an ss180 motor come together last weekend that my friend is rebuilding. What a nightmare.

Even still, I concur it looks like a rally, but what's up with the VIN listed? That prefix would be a SS180 wouldn't it?

all there, no rust & OK motor w/ all the new bits needed to get it going again

worth a look if you want a nice older project, just posted on ScootNet @ $1000

in California so I guess that's not too a bad deal there?

smooth fender that appears to be intact and original with some spares for 1K?

meh. if i was looking for a project i'd probably bite.

no tags and title though, so i'd say 750 cash

with the fact that stuff has been taken apart (and probably some bits lost) i might even say like 5-6; but it is all there and not hammered ass so if you were into it and looking for a project you really couldn't go wrong.

however, i'm more interested in the red thing that's in the background...

Yeah. If I was on the hunt, I'd want to go have a look w/ some dollars in my pocket. Good potential here for a proper paintless 'restore' if it's as solid as it seems.

I was gonna comment on the lift for the red thing to the right. This fellow is serious about his toys and probably got only fine things for his gonna-be Vespa too.

if the motor's real good

Not really a deal unless you just happen to be looking for a solid looking RAT P200 semi fast and w/ title, that nobody will steal. Fresh on ScootNet w/ a pic you can't see shit on.
trim, lol

but are you fast?

It looks like it is missing the Ulma leg shield trim, but it has the Ulma front rack. Other than that, I agree with MJ - the price is a little high.

It IS a Rally
I paid 1500 about 3 years ago for essentially the same bike - partially disassembled, same year AND color. Mine had a curled edge on the legshield I had to straighten, but the paint is slightly better & still original, cowls included. The motor was out, but complete & ran well. I did find original 044 legshield trim to replace the damaged pieces but everything else was there and OK.

This is a complete scooter with new and NOS parts. I also have a valid NC title in my name. The parts that were removed are bagged. This package includes the following:
New tires rims and tubes
New bearings for the motor and gaskets new piston
Seat cover (already installed)
Battery
Cable kit
Rubber kit
Gas tank cleaned out with new fuel tap
The cylinder has been machined for the new piston (included)
New front fender (Italian)
Shocks
Front fork uprated spring
Brake shoes
and much more
I think the Rally is my best bike & I'd do it again. I didn't get all that new stuff with mine either. If I was local and Rallyless, I'd start at that 1000, but bring the 1500 in hopes he'd come down a little from his 1750. He may get it if the bones are good and it is complete, including trim.

Plus you might get $12 for that white thing stuck on the deluxe BBQ rack(backrest & spare mount) that looks to be in good shape Clown emoticon

That rally looks great. If it's $1750, that probably means $1500.

The accessories are a good sign (Ulma front rack and BBQ box still intact... generally means it was not overly abused). If the paint on the body is salvageable, not a bad deal if it's as clean as it looks in the photo.
