1979 Vespa P200E Barn Find. - $1000 (Boxford, MA)

Barn Find Vespa. It has been sitting for close to 20 years. It has 6,400 miles on the 200cc engine. It seems to have good compression. I cleaned the fuel tank and petcock and installed an in-line fuel filter. The scooter fires up but will not keep running. It needs a Carb rebuild. The tires are dry-rotted and the battery is dead. It is what it is, a Barn Find. I'm trying to sell it as is, before I restore it.

These are very sought after as it is a large 200cc motor that can go over 55 mph. Parts are plentiful and cheap. This a 100% original Italian steel Vespa. Clean Title. 4 speed manual Transmission. Oil injected, no need to premix!

Clean MA Title in hand.

1958 Vespa Barn fresh scooter project 120CC - $695 (Lake George)

I have a 1958 Vespa 120 I believe scooter for sale. I'm not real knowledgeable about scooters so I'll keep it simple. It does turn over with seems like good compression. Appears pretty complete except for the headlight lens and ignition switch. I do have the trim that goes around the fairing as well as the kick start lever and a new set of correct grips. Original paint on most of it except where someone started filling some shallow dents on the engine cover.
Asking $695 or trades considered especially NOS vintage car parts.

If you saw the amount of space I have for my current P200 in the garage, you'd understand why I don't go get another one.

Really, I'd rather get a smallie.

But I do troll Craigslist each day, not sure what I'm really looking for, but figure I'd do my good deed of the day and pass it along for others.

Scooter in boxes... smallframe... that's a $500 project. A bit over priced at 1200.

very much in agreement. that bike together and running, tagged and titled is maybe 2K, not running- 1/2 that, in pieces 1/2 again. $500 is a very decent price for something like that.

there's a reason it's been up for awhile...

For me, I'm a rider. I'm kind of the "anti-Retroguy", I just want something to ride, not to tinker endlessly to make it look better than new. I can appreciate people who do that, but it's not me.

And it just torques me when people take something apart and then never put it together, but demand a price that recoups their out of pocket expenses.... if it's such an easy project (just needs a carb clean, new battery gets it going) then maybe someone should do the simple thing and get it going.

SO this guy wants $1200 for an incomplete project (the body doesn't even have new paint, for crying out loud), and I have to paint it, buy some spendy parts (crank, speedo, wiring, ad all the other missing stuff), put it together, and in the end it's still only worth $1800 or so? Hard pass for me.

Not to worry, I'll continue to post what I trip over... hopefully I help someone find a new scoot/project for themselves.

if i would have known how much work mine was going to end up needing i would have beat the guy up over the price (figurative) now it runs like a top thanks to a lot of help and $$

If it needed to be completely gone over and the guy was asking the same amount, he would have gotten a resounding GFY from me.

You have friends in the area....it's maybe 50 miles from where I am.

As for shipping, call around, or rent a UHaul trailer. Heck, if you take the battery and cowls off you can lay it down in your hatchback.

The 66 is the one with the sticker on the front. (thus the phase Blue Badge)

Bluebadge Sprint is super rare. Came with Mickey Mouse Tail Lights.

A complete Mickey Mouse Tail Light can fetch 250 if in good complete condition.

looks to be a Super deal
except for no title....but still....and it does look like there are a couple items not original...worth closer inspection.

1975 Vespa super 150 that hasn't been ridden in a few years. Have all the parts and a spare 150cc engine and trans to go with it.
Dose not have a title but a bill of sale from previous owner and another one from me.
Have a box of parts that go with it

Totally impractical. I've always wanted one.Would you be more inclined if it were a Vespa? How hard is it to get a windshield? Is it supposed to have doors?

That thing is a total rust bucket. Sorry, I meant patina bucket.
Dig those crazy Home Depot L-brackets holding up that windshield frame.

And nice ventilation holes on the floorboard so you can do that Flintstones foot braking.

I wasn't suggesting anyone should buy that particular one. I was just wondering how hard it is to get parts for them, generally.

Looking at scoot.net this morning, I see a DOTD $1,400 P200 with really nice looking paint

There's also a almost DOTD Stella, for $1,000. Points off for tying it down by the grips, though.

bought the P200, as it was only 20 mins from my house. Really nice owner, which sounds like he has had a lot of Vespas and restored a few.

1981 vespa, has been sitting for years and needs all new paint. Drives and runs perfect, a new engine was put in by Vespa of San Diego in 2010. This was the first year they made the 3 speed. Theres a clutch with a 3 gear mechanism on the left handle. 2,300 miles. Has not been registered since 2012, Title in Hand. Too many projects must go.

Looks like a good way to try out a smallframe. $400 for a titled reasonably complete bike. Wish I had room, I'd build a hella wicked fast bike on this one as it's not so pretty that I'd regret cutting out the battery box and putting a huge pipe on there .

^^^Great deal!

Well as long as the back fees aren't too outrageous, so tempting if the scoot is on PNO status.

Nice find.

Maybe not DOD, but wolf's 1970 Rally 180 is a gem.

Hope it finds a good home.
