The exhaust also has/had a POWER VALVE but it needs a diaphragm and I can't seem to find out how to get a replacement so I left it out of the description. The expansion chamber works fine without it though.

It's a sharp looking bike with loads of goodies, I can't believe it hasn't moved yet. If I didn't already have a good running blue P200, I'd be there!

I have so many questions about this! Was this something that was custom fabricated? Or is there a link I can check out?

Pic on that v90, good looking bike. $2k seems good for a nicely painted v90.

I don't know much about that one because the listing has expired but it looks like a steal at $1000. It's close enough to me that I could go get it tomorrow and be back before it gets dark. Does anybody know more about it or how to get in touch with the seller?

Talked to the guy and I'm going Saturday. I didn't think about that. It's registered in my state so I won't have to get it inspected but thanks for the heads up.

OK, now a little of the story. This is the second vintage scooter that I have bought when it was drawn to my attention by this thread. The other is the VBC pictured. That one had less than 1000 miles on it when I bought it and was in remarkable condition except for scratches from being pushed around the barn for forty years. I still have it.

My new toy is a 1980 P200E, or at least it started that way. The engine was not built by the person that I bought it from and I'm going by what he said so any of this could be incorrect. Polini piston and cylinder Mikuni carb. Reed valve. Fully ported case. Lightened flywheel. I can't remember what pipe it is. I'll get a picture later. I forgot to ask what kind of crank it has. He said that he thinks it has a T5 fourth gear but he's not sure about that. Aluminum wheels. I'm not don't know what brand. Upgraded shock. He started it for me but I didn't get a chance to ride it because it was cold, I was over 200 miles from home and it was getting late. I have no doubt that it will go. I paid $600 for it. Clean title but the VIN has been cut off which is not an issue for me but could be if someone wanted to register it in a different state.

I have no immediate plans for it except to terrorize the streets, scare dogs and cause old men to shake their fist at me telling me to slow down. If you're looking at something like this I recommend that you buy one that is running so you have something to ride. It may one day become the subject of a build thread but I have too many projects ahead of it to start a new one now. I would like to put a Stella fork and brake on it. I'm looking for one that is wrecked or has a bad motor.

$1200 for a 100 sport in decent nick? sounds like a winner. Hell that battery door is worth $200 .

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/5930961211.html

1981 Vespa 100 sport! I am the 3rd owner and I have all of the maintenance records. She runs great and was tuned up about 11 months ago at Massimo's vintage Vespa shop in Costa Mesa and then was used sparingly for the remainder of the year. Super fun and reliable gas saver (around 45 MPG) that I used as my daily driver for my freshman year in college but now I need bigger and faster transportation. For more in depth detail and questions text or call Ethan!
Thanks!

I don't know if this is super rare or not, so just popping it up here....

1963 VESPA GS160 SCOOTER gs 160 - $1500 (Freetown, ma)

http://providence.craigslist.org/mcy/5954704049.html

I'm selling a 1963 Vespa GS160 MKll. Scooter has a 2 stroke engine with a manual gear box. Engine kicks over with good compression. I've never bothered getting it running. It was mainly just a garage piece. I need the room so selling the Vespa. Scooter will be sold with a bill of sale only. $1500 takes it

It is comparatively rare, very desirable and bargain priced. Haven't you always wanted an older classic Larry? Better jump on this quick before somebody else does. Check for floor rot from underneath & verify the motor still spins(seller says it does) but it will sell at that price regardless of those issues to some hardcore GS fan. Then the ad goes down & no more pics.

So for posterity, I present the rest of the story, perhaps the last GS160 around for easy money:

Another edit, found the links to bigger pics so switching to those because 1500$ GS160

Guys,
For as much as I would LOVE to take on a project, business has been down a bit here, and I'm not in the position to jump on anything. But if someone here needs a set of eyes, I can go see it if someone is serious.

I'm just glad that I remembered that it was a desirable model.

Turns out some douchenozzle e-mailed the guy and told him that was the "most" desirable Vespa...he took down the initial ad (listed at $1,200) and e-mailed back that he had priced it too low.....good job whomever did that...
