If i lived semi-close to that GS, I would make the ride and check it out. Be respectful, honest and look for problems as I'm sure the pictures lie some. Offer a grand. If he turns it down, walk away.....

"This 1974 Vespa Sprint Veloce was bought used at San Francisco's First Kick scooter shop and was a daily driver for about a year. Then we bought a new Vespa and only used this old one occasionally.It does start right up though, and runs well.
This model does not have a battery or turn signals, and you have to mix the gas at every fill up with 2stroke oil. The speedometer cable is broken. I don't like the way the transmission doesn't click in well in 2nd gear, so I would usually shift from 1st right to 3rd.
It was fun and cool to ride this scooter around SanFran, and I enjoyed tinkering with it. But it no longer fits in with my life in Los Angeles and I would like to sell it.
Currently I have the scooter registered with the CA DMV in non-operational status and I have the title in my name. "

Maybe for somebody w/ space, time, experience and ideally a spare motor: Motor's fixable but not easy or off the shelf. So the price seems high unless you like that shade of blue and it's solid under the paint.

As long as we're checking eBay, this battered V90 is now at $416 w/ 10 hrs to go in Minnesota, but I wouldn't give much more if it was nearby.
