The Black P200 is not a bad place to start, but if it doesn't run, doesn't have a title or paperwork, and may have back fees.... that all adds up before you can cruise with a smile on your face.

Honestly, the price is a good starting point...... for negotiation.

Unless you're in it for a project, you're probably on the road for less coin by buying a $2000 P200 and just kick and go.
I disagree - consider it this way.... Can you buy a P200 engine for $700? Even if you part it out you win.

As long as it was not on the road there is no need to pay back registration in California for vintage bikes. Bill of sale is fine as long as the seller in in California too, but it will need a visit to the CHP for inspection before the process is complete. $700 p200e would be worth looking at.

Allstate letdown
I really thought this was going to be my deal of the day until i went there and discovered that the 'engine that spins freely' is really 'engine that is locked up so tight a gorilla couldn't turn it.

Looks like its been parked indoors since 1968. super straight and hardly any rust.

sad. https://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/mcy/6066640746.html

Damnit...I've been looking for a project sprint for so long I'd pretty much given up on it, and when one finally pops up, I'm not watching for it.

Great Project. Desireable larger older scooter. Believe it's a 1971. Mostly there , kicks over. All parts available. Come get it out of my garage.

Do you have the means to maintain a second home? If so then you could set this scooter up there and visit any time without the wife knowing.

How about this? We create a true scenario that can drop this beauty on you painlessly with respect to wifey and with no need to resort to total falsehoods or expensive second homes. I will go get it & will hold a raffle. I will sell tickets for $500 cash then declare raffle closed when the first ticket is sold.

$800 P200E for those who don't mind rebuilding a motor.

I'd probably jump all over this if I hadn't bought that Stella motor yesterday.

Vespa old school P200E - $2500 (Liverpool NY)

https://albany.craigslist.org/mcy/6091158346.html

Under 4000 original miles
In storage 20 years
Engine just rebuilt
Runs perfect and very depenable.
New battery and tires.
Inspected and ready to go.
Top speed of 80.
Around 90 mile a gallon.
4 speed Transmission.

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

Not sure I would consider it a "Deal of the Day", but if it truly has a rebuilt engine it's worth the coin. Would love to see it do 80 mph, or get 90 mpg... but hey, what's a little exaggeration between friends?

.. and one more

1963 Vespa - $1900 (NASHUA NH)

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/mcy/6091623520.html

Can deliver after purchase.
Will be sold with bill of sale

Runs and drives well. All original unrestored nor molested.

Beautiful show piece or put new tires on and ride around as is.

... it's an Allstate, no real details, but figured someone might be interested in something that looks original.

A sightly entertaining post. If the engine is indeed a brand new LML I suppose it's worth the price.

I like the looks of this Bajaj. Price may not be the best given that it is Bajaj, but overall a nice, clean bike. It's basically a Sprint, am I right?

$1750
Nice US Bike. Curve tail frame with super cowls on 10 inch wheels. It seems Bajaj used the same frame press from the early sixties and changed the cowls, headset, and wheel size through out the years.

Looks like engine cowl maybe for a Sprint and the other a Super (original) cowl. Super cowls are shorter and a little more curvy.
A US Sprint that I use to own looked the same from the rear. The PO replaced the Glovebox cowl (and everything else) with Indian parts. The cowl was for a Sprint/Bajaj but actually a Super Cowl. At first I thought it just needed an adjustment until I found out and it bugged me until it was gone.

Some of the Bajaj have a MASSIVE glove box, but not this one. You can put small children in there.

1958 Vespa - $3800 (York ,PA)

I believe this is from the same man who sold me his 1980 P200E (photo in my profile). While I'm no expert (by a long shot), I believe this is legit. It probably had some weird mods done to it but I bet it's been kept in his garage for several recent years.
