Modern Vespa

Not a deal per se, but looks SUPER intriguing because it seems too pretty for a `67 with original paint (though at 2100 miles, anything's possible), yet has original dealer stickers on the tail and tunnel.

Seems like a Concours starter kit, if everything's original...

And with a '67 I believe you can fiddle w/ the motor more easily than older ones.

Considering EVERYTHING needs actually restored, $1500. Easily $3/$5k to just get it back to stock, and then paint... So a further $5/8K. Unless you love it's current "restored" look. Then $3,000.

The wall of text does not sell it for me.

So many "wrongs" with that "restoration". Seat, speedometer, trim, color, general lack of attention to detail...I could go on.

I'm sure the seller is quite upside-down on the "investment".

I agree. The text is an annoyance and unnecessary. The price is too high considering it's the 'wrong' color and has several aftermarket unoriginal parts. It looks very similar to one that was for sale a couple years ago on Ebay. Not even close to deal of the day. If I had US$8,500 (11,000 CAN), I'd buy something better.

I think that's been listed for going on 2 years. It made it as low as $8k US, but now it's back to $11k CAN.

For that price, you could at least include the helmet hook and spare cover.

Now look at the leggy trim, floor rails, cowl hooks, oil sight glass & rubber buffer, fuel tap and center mat. Painter either did an awesome job of masking or he removed all those. But he forgot the helmet hook?

I agree - grad job on the floor runners but I see some more possible overspray just below the left blinker on the legshield. The curiosity is getting to me - I'm going to contact the seller.

Center stand bolts are painted over. Defo a respray...

A pretty nice looking scoot tho. Hope the re-paint is covering up anything. Doesn't look to be from the pics. Would be nice to see an MV'er get this one.

I dunno... Maybe I'm just a cheapskate, but I'd have a hard time paying more than $1500 for any P series unless it was in a high state of tune... But that's just me...

Here's a nice one for you, Chris. Much closer, better paint and cheaper too @ EUR 1.150, but a few more miles(30,000 km). Includes lots of racks, maybe too many...



Or maybe a minty Pole Position w/ 10,800 km for EUR 4.500 or 1000 euro more than the barn find is at right now.

I've been there before Mac. Finding a good deal on a scooter that's local to me, then like you said, it getting put on blast here from someone else who's out of state. Yes it can be frustrating, but that's what this particular thread is all about.

Dealing with Craigslist brings out the worst in all of us. I just accept the rule of 1/5; you'll have deal with five dickheads, deadends and bad deals for every one score.

And, for the record, my V, which originated in P-town, ain't got no cupholder, but I did ride it coast to coast this summer.

I called the DMV to find out. Since it has Oregon plates a Bill of Sale is needed and a Replacement Title form signed by said Bill of Sale person. That's $77.

Then to bring it up to current tags and register it in your name you need to bring the scooter to the DMV so they can verify the VIN, and pay $93.

It looks like all that is doable and not too difficult! Has it happened yet MacG?
