I think SIP has a legshield basket that is repopped. Quick search turned up this:
http://www.sip-scootershop.com/EN/Products/24142500/Luggage+basket+Vespa+V50PVET3.aspx Not sure if that one would fit though... might... ⚠️ Last edited by carmonaville on UTC; edited 1 time

Bodge or not?
Yeah... That's kinda what I was thinking.... Here's the exchange I had with the seller: (names removed to protect the clueless)
(me) Hi! Do you know where the restoration of this scooter was done? Red fan doesn't look original... Just curious (seller) This scooter was brought into the US in 2007. All work was completed before it was imported. Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions or you are interested in purchasing. Thanks. (me) Where was it brought from? (seller) It was bought in Italy in 2007 and then brought to the US. Hmmm..... Do they wear yellow boots in Italy now? |

For those of you that haven't gotten around to getting that vintage scoot on the road...this might be a good deal for you to drop & ride before the season is up!
ScooterWorks is having a sale on their LML 5port 150cc non-injected engine today only. Until 6pm cst. $799. (reg price 1099) Might be a good option... Just sayin' |

Soooo jealous of that GS project! I hope it gets on the road eventually instead of sittin' around collecting dust.

Two 1979 Vespa P200's for $1100.
If I'm reading this correctly... this guy wants $1100 for two P200's (both need work), but still. For someone in Salt Lake (or someone willing to drive/ship), this is a steal.
http://scoot.net/classifieds/forsale.html?id=23223 "I have 2 Vespa P200 scooters that need a lot of work. The $1,100 price is for both of them. They are beaters so be prepared. The first one is red and the body is pretty straight. It has been dry fitted but needs full assembly and a motor rebuild. It has a rear chrome rack, a rear chrome seat grab rail, Mercedes hubcap and a matching red luggage box with back rest. It has 2 new IRC tires and a new spare. The motor needs full rebuild. The second one is white. The paint appears to be original. The bodywork is relatively straight. The seat needs a new cover. It is completely taken apart and needs total engine rebuild. This scooter is missing the engine. You could put a new Stella LML motor in it or just save this scooter for parts. this scooter is basically a box of parts. Call your buddy and chip in on this as a joint project. This could be a great project for the right person but will take a lot of work. Call me with questions. Willing to help with any shipping arrangements. More pics here http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=12057839&cat=210 Thanks. This one looks to be original paint - if so this is a good deal for what appears to be a very unmolested GS150:

Found on CL
http://quadcities.craigslist.org/mcy/1916972216.html
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vespa P200E scooter and a Vespa CIAO moped. P200E has the body disassembled and in epoxy primer. Power train intact. Low miles. Have several hundred dollars worth of new parts to go on it. Moped has 1677 miles, is complete and runs. Neither units have titles however; they can be had. $950 for both with new parts. |

Looks like a nice deal on an original condition P200 for $1200:
http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/mcy/1920383149.html Quote: 1980 P200E scooter. It runs really well and it will do 55 mph with me on it and i weigh 245. I just got it and I really wanted to keep it and put a sidecar on it and ride around with my dog but we have to move as soon as possible, so I have to take a loss on it. There's a 2 inch rip in the side of the seat and some chips are in the paint but it's straight and original and it has not been modified or cut up. Gimme a call if you wanna talk about it. Thanks. 715-222-7105 ![]() |

The GS150 only came in Silver so it is not OG paint.
That GS has been for sale for quite a while - IIRC I've seen it for sale as much as 6 months ago. Maybe the seller has lowered the price substantially because $2k seems pretty reasonable. You'd think someone would have made a deal by now. |
