I am hesitant to drop $500 on an ebay listing of a scooter without seeing it. Something about buying a vehicle on ebay without seeing it first is not appealing to me. I'll gladly pick it up if he lets me come see it first. And V oodoo, if I do, i'll ask him about the mobile sign!

Body is rotted. Engine has pretty low miles if odometer is correct.

I'm driving to Detroit in April for frozen four college hockey tournament. Too a look on craigslist in that area the other night and saw that. Was thinking I'd go grab it if it's still available in a month and a half!

Lambretta
Saw this last night and tried to jump on it, Lambretta Li III for $300, even offered $50 over asking price. When he finally got back to me, he said he was offered $700 by a guy from Virginia and he'd agreed to sell it to him. Too bad, I could have used a project, even if it's not a Vespa! ( my Sprint project is still in the body shop for 3 months)
I told the guy I'd match the $700 offer if his deal falls though, you never know https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/for/d/bolingbrook-vespa-lambretta-scooter/7114938730.html ![]() |

It certainly appears to be a 150 Super/VBC, but is there any chance it could be a Sprint Veloce? The mudguard/fender is the decider, given that we cannot see the wheel size. Whatever it is, that paint just needs a clean and a buff and it's going to shine. Definitely worth the asking price......and more.
What a lovely looking Vespa |

Turned out - he typed me a note telling me it had been sold.
I just hadn't seen it. Shame for us but hopefully someone else on the forum picked it up! |

We don't like to see people get burned so if someone is asking like that we let them go after it and try to help them score. I've asked people to check out a scooter for me and had them say "If you don't want it I'm buying it" and I've been on the other end too! Now if you had said something like "I thought it over and it not the right time for me" I would have plowed head first into that dog pile! Keep asking, the right one will come along! |

HARD PASS even at free. -g |

and i see things exactly opposite
at bare minimum you could take the fork, hubs, and headset along with the case and sell them for a few. Even if the frame is trash, there are parts worthy of a trip if anyone is close by. Strip it down and use some parts sell some parts or even throw them on the shelf for the next project. Watching the Smallie repair in Australia is indicative of the benefits of having a spare parts frame lying around.

Watching the Smallie repair in Australia is indicative of the benefits of having a spare parts frame lying around. that's HOURS and HOURS of work for the parts-- you know everything is rusted to shit. and THEN you gotta deal with cleaning it all up, taking pictures of it all, posting it all up, answering dumb questions, haggling over price, getting payment, boxing it up, and then taking it to get shipped. if it was some super rare stuff? sure. if they dropped it off to me, eh, why not. if it was cleaner and not a ball of rust? okay. but all that looks waxed. and more problems than it's worth. i can just imagine the frustration, cans of PB blaster, torch work and beating just to free the motor, and not only from the frame. -g |
