dont know if other areas can see these area specific adds? the piaggio x9 above is for sale in tampa for 3500 . it has 360 miles on it.

this is my rant. it popped up for sale in orlando for 1000$. I was the first contact. I contacted him at 900am . "I can be there at 12". my final message to him "I will not be backing out, I am scooter fanatic and have been looking for an x9 for two years" he changed ad to pending. I went outside to fix flat on my trailer. I came inside at 1015 to see ad marked sold. I felt pretty cheated to say the least. while I was outside my phone was inside . right after my last message like 905am he asked "are you sure you are coming" I get why I missed out. I just felt he should of at least waited to here back from me, or at least wait till noon. still pissed and its been three weeks now.

As a seller, I've had people not show after waiting an hour and they were coming , they called before they left. Then they mysteriously wouldn't answer the phone. Guessing the ATM machine told them they didn't have the cash. First person with cash gets it.

As a buyer I've sent a deposit using PayPal, to really show I'm interested and will be there. Kind of like earnest money on a house.

some 20 years ago I bought a triump tr6 for 700. put a starter in it and advertised car for 2000. first caller was one hour away. I told him he wouldnt be wasting a drive. come out to get car. second caller was 10 minutes away. I told him I had appt and it wasnt for sale for the next hour. he wanted to come out anyway so I let him. when second caller arrived he saw car and offered 2500 on the spot. I said no I couldnt do that to somebody. first called got car for 2000 and went home happy. second caller went home pretty angry.

I guess I am cut from a different cloth then you. I believe a mans word is all he really has. if the bike was being sold first come first serve its usually stated. given he marked ad pending after I contracted and said I was not backing out I was confident in his selling techniques. lack of character in people is why I missed out. he broke our verbal contract to sell to someone else.

It sounds like you're pretty worked up and didn't read Christopher's reply accurately. Re-read his reply (and don't read into his reply) a few times after you settle down some. And being that this is NSM, and the X9 is modern, does this mean you have also posted another thread about this in the modern section?

same thing has happened to me, both as seller and buyer, on offerup. The built-in messaging is just horrific, as is the search function, and one ought not to dwell on the results either way.

But yes, we can see the out-of-area ad you linked here.

not really a big deal I missed out. I have too many scooters all of which qualified for deal of the day in my book.

my gtv turned into gts300 was $230
my helix was $450
the majesty was $250
mp3 500 was $200
brand new 0 mile beo 200 $900
385mile clean vespa 100 sport $400
clean 2005 vespa px150 $650

when I come here I use the new thread feature. pretty easy to just look at thread titles to see what you want to read. "deal of the day" is particularly attractive to me and I always dive in for a look.. shame it only applies to NSM crowd only.

but carry on. this will be my last post in here. I sold my two NSM scooters earlier this year. old scooters just nor for me at this time in my life.

i didn't read the ad but it appears neat and tidy. it's all there, and if it's a runner then that's about the tippy top of the market. i'd shake some dice at 18ish though.

Pretty sweet looking Stella in Cincinatti for $1,000 if you're into that sort thing.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1045158719293651/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined

I'd grab it if I hadn't just bought JVB's P200 motor.

I was looking at that, couldn't place what was wrong with it. Just figured it out, look at the left cowl vs right. The right cowl is correct, the left cowl is missing the indent front to back.

I'm betting that it's just the camera angle and flash causing it to look like that.

I sent him a message and asked out of curiosity, he said it's the picture.

I'm still thinking about jumping on that Stella as a possible flip. People keep asking me where they can get a vintage scoot here, so there's definitely a market for it.

I would like to know what the local guru did to the motor. I asked and never got a response. My oil system was removed due to a side draft carburetor. What was done to this one? Don't feel like driving 10 hours+ one way either. Nashville is about half the distance for you. I do like the red though.

It's an interesting bike but the condition and no title, not gonna fetch that price. With a title maybe? To the right buyer? But no way without a title.

It's been listed for months. I messaged him a few months ago to say it was a nice looking bike and he responded, but I wouldn't buy it for that price. Maybe $400!

A 125 TS. I don't think those were ever imported to the US. It doesn't have the US market headset.

Wonder what the story is there.

Kinda like the GTR, they're around but not many. Easily in the territory of T5 or PK/ETS

If you want one, you'll be looking for a hot minute. If you want one and find one, buy it.

Missed it. Gone already. Bollocks!
Yeah I'm about an hour away from that right now and contacted the guy when i first saw the ad 3 days after it went up. Unfortunately it was sold already. So pissed i missed out on that.

I was getting the sweats when i saw it and texted and emailed him and wasnt getting a response. Called him and he got back to be to say it was sold already.

125 t.s. is a nice scooter intro'd in Europe as a hi end bike for 16 year olds. It is essentially a stripped Rally, no fancy trim and a 125cc 3 port motor. A nice bike, but no better than a very similar looking Sprint which has a bigger motor.
I bet with same paint & tail lite, but no model badge, that most ppl couldn't tell them apart.

Its just more rare, not like comparing a legendary T5 to a P125. I had one and prefer my older beat up Sprint.

Same engine casing as a P125? Assuming since it's a rally frame you can put a 150 or 200 engine into it?
