Eh. If it's got a title and tags.

There's another 5-7 hundy missing or needing there.

But if it's not rotted out, good place to start.

As has been said I would buy it just for the disc brake.

the 4t is body panels over a tubular frame, I believe. Totally different design, so no conversion option.

It might be a good electric conversion candidate, though.

The parts supply is the prime reason I let go of the Chetak I had. Got tired of scrounging for basic stuff. Otherwise a solid machine.

what sort of spares were you finding in short supply that made it too difficult?

I'd have thought that most of the really hard-to-replace parts would be long-wearing stuff like cylinders & pistons or maybe valve-train. All of those will last basically forever if you're just maintaining and not tuning them, I'd think.

I have a similar issue with an old (1962) 4-cylinder 2t boat motor that came on my boat. It has adequate compression and the motor turns freely, so I definitely have the ability to rebuild it, but there are some parts, like the ignition, that just don't seem to exist any more, which is kind've a showstopper.

Everything else. Using the Bajaj 4t as an example: there was a problem with the rear wheel bearing wearing out. Can't just find one on the shelf somewhere but actually try to match up by going to a bearing manufacture. Also the exhaust did rust on the Bajaj 4t and could not get another. Hot Rod Al was making some at one time but of course stopped and that was the end of that. There are so many parts that can go bad. Seals, gears, bearings, stators, flywheel, have to make your own gaskets, and find O-rings to match plus other many things. Imagine finding a carb cleaning kit for a 4t Bajaj. Some are out there but not for long like Vespa parts that's been around for ages.

That thing is a parts bike to keep someone else bike going.

For one, front shock. When I got the bike it was BAD. Got a spare used one. Went bad. The intake spacer eroded and I had to scrounge another. Had a few carb issues made necessary to hand cut paper gaskets. Main issue was I got it thinking it was an indestructible cargo (grocery carrying) tank to roll around on and save wear and tear on my vintage bikes. Not something that would be a tinker-scrounge fest of equal frustration. Were it something rare and unusual, I would have worked with it. It just didn't fit my intended purpose. A shame though, because it's otherwise a great bike. The guy I sold it to has an affinity for Bajaj so, for him it's worth the effort. He's had it for probably 6 years now and it's still his primary bike.

There's still the headset with disc master, the glove box, probably the left cowl, seat, tail lamp, and more on there. Wheels and rims look common as well, there's probably more too. You will easily make $300 on parts.

Nope. It's still a steel frame, but in two pieces. The 4T mounts up a bit differently, if I'm not mistaken.

Don't hate on them too much. I'm liking mine. In good shape they are still going for a grand or more. LINK
