That's a serious DoTD, assuming that nothing bad and irreversible was done to the motor along the way.

Exactly, and as was mentioned somewhere over the weekend, in California the title is a big deal (as it was in Illinois). Here in Tennessee, other than the time to get a re-issued title, it's no big deal at all. Cost like an extra $20, I think, for my GL and that was for a bike I had to get a replacement VIN sticker for.

I'd still hit that Bajaj anywhere between 2000 and 2500, the 2500 would take me knowing the seller's work and maintenance skills. Not DoD but exactly the condition I like my bikes in.

It's Tennessee. They'll give you a title for pretty much anything you can claim a valid VIN for around here, I've discovered.

I've been communicating with the seller and have plans to pick this one up. Question for you knowledgeable people: do you see anything in the pic below that indicates Rally or P200e engine? Scooterhelp gives an estimated 1980 date for the engine number, vs 1977 for the frame number. (Definitely not a 73 like ad says.) Kickstart lever is P style at least.

Anything else stand out, especially in regards to where it might be from? Not a USA model but has a MPH speedo. (UK maybe?) No battery or keyed ignition. At first I thought the taillight was wrong, but I've since seen other Rallys (Rallies?) with the same.

I'd say '73 with that rear badge. 2.5 seems like a good price, but be careful...oil sight glass is empty. if it was run like that....

make sure it's a 200, regardless of whether it's a Rally or a P engine. A LML 150 would be a bummer to find in place of a 200.
