The color/patina is gorgeous.

Was that an original Allstate color? Or did they just come in red?

Didn't just come in red. My '58 is a baby blue one. Dunno when they switched over to red. Haven't ever seen one that dark of blue except for the Smallstates which were blue or white I think?

Looks like maybe a good rattle can respray job? It appears that the cowl trim is the same color.
Leg shield trim is weird aftermarket stuff too. Just enough "off" to make me wonder what else is going on. If it was local I'd go look at it with a hairy eye... But add shipping and all the mystery cosmetics and I am a pass.

On closer inspection...total respray. The cowl trim is also painted over.

Mine is a 62 and it has a tag number of 788.94495.

BTW, my friend Matt (Gogogordy) passed an Original Allstate manual along to me with the number 788.94494. does somebody have this scooter? FridayMatinee?

I actually passed through Sac on Tuesday. I could have easily stuffed it in the back of my van, but I don't need ANOTHER Vespa project (said no one ever).

Mine is 94493 and is a '58 which was the last of the 125cc piston ported models and along with the '57- '58 VNA1T, the only piston ported large frames other than the GS160 and SS180.

That's a lot of money for a scoot that really needs a complete and professional respray in the original white IMHO, and several original and expensive parts to correct the modifications. However, a 1968 SS180 is my ultimate Vespa, as it's my birth year and favourite model. Not many around, as most are from '65 or '66.

I know the owner of white/orange SS; and I know the owner that did the build. Lots of work done inside the engine, as well as other small touches like BGM topshelf shocks, pipe, led lights, Vespatronic ignition, etc. The motor is pretty beastly. Hot Rod Al port work, etc etc. Yes its not stock original, roughish ratty build but tastefully done 'custom' (imho). It could easily go back to stock specs with only swapping a few parts.
If someone buys this and wants to swap out the drop-bars for stock - hit me up

Seriously there is no reason for any hesitation on that one.

Maybe someone here got it! I wouldn't have expected it to last any longer. Especially in this area where there aren't a ton for sale, and those that are are thrice the price!

It's in se ma. It's been listed a few times this past year for much more. I was thinking about trying to grab it to finally join the 60/8 club!

I know but the cards probably won't line up for me on this one now that it's a decent deal. I don't have a day off to drive 5 hrs up there to grab it for like a week.
