Same era machines and both bricky. The hint is the side cowls - those would be removable on a T5 Classic, but in this case they are small-frame style.

If it's a PK125, I think 1500's a good price still - they were never sold here.

1966 Smallframe project, $750
Spoke with this guy - sounds like it needs to have the crank replaced (and maybe more). This is a pretty involved process - but it could be a good winter project. Hmm...

Is this a good deal for a project scoot like this? Seems good, but not great. Thoughts?

Hard to say....body looks good....really good actually. Not sure that I would have the skills to change a crank but if you're up for it I'd say goo give it a look.

If you want a smallframe, this is probably a decent one. The VMA1T was the first 125cc smallframe and has a four speed tranny.

Think about what it would take to make this a runner and if it is less than $1000, I think that it is probably a good deal.

Thanks.

Actually I didn't "crash" my scooter. And he is a friend of mine. I was just in the right place at the right time with cash in hand.
He called me to take a look and post this for sale on the forum.
It was scoot love at first sight.

I've sold motorcycles on CL, and know the amount of phone calls and appointment setting gets out of hand. Someone is always disappointed when they lose the item to someone else.

One of my scooters was crashed by a team rider during 24 heures du Rage.
I sold one , and my daily rider was hit by a cage who blew a light last month .
Got this because I needed something to ride while my bikes were in the shop and don't have enough to challenge me like breaking down along the roadside : )

It is beautiful, dirt, rust and all.

If I ever decide to sell...I'll post to MVer's only .
There you go,

These aren't tremendous deal or anything, but if you are looking for one the price might be right.

The TV175 is gone. The GS160 looks rough but for $125 I'm sure there are some good parts there on the cheap.

It is hard to imagine a scooter that isn't worth $125.

I just saw this GL that looks pretty good for $2k-

Auction in Lexington, OH on Oct 2 that includes a 1958 Lambretta and National pedal scooter. If you are in the area, it might be worth checking out, the auction also includes a ton of tools and woodworking stuff-

Wow, didn't even see that. I just saw $1k for a banged up Stella and thought that it would make a great starter bike for someone. Has to be a typo.

1969 Rally 180 - $600

With glovebox!

"Engine is free with good compression. (105 psi without a pipe on it). Bad stuff: Forks bent, no cowls, pipe, seat, terrible paint job, head & tail lights are ugly/rough. Good: includes carb and air box, oil and injector fuel tanks, complete head set and speedo. The infamous glove box is so-so but certainly good enough to save, same for the fender. Frame has a dime sized hole near the rear brake pedal, and typical legshield wear and tear. Some rust on tank exterior, inside in good condition. I can deliver to New Orleans, Birmingham, Nashville, ATL/Athens, Savannah, Jax/Tampa-Orlando/Daytona, etc. $600"

No key (lost), no title (lost), not registered. Broken front brake lever. Can't ride it nor even hear it run. Have to rely totally on the word of the seller and whatever can be observed.

I dunno, I'm tempted by the price but hate buying a pig in the poke. If I needed parts or if it was a super desirable model then I could overlook some of these issues. Whadya thinks?

I think that the biggest issue for me would be the lack of a title. I admit that I bought a P125X two days ago with a busted engine for $600. Has a title, though. I just happened to have a LML engine laying around to put in it.

Edit: Oh, yeah- It had the key, too. I would run the VIN before handing over money.

Yep, lack of title is not good although he says it's "available" not sure if he means he has it or can get a replacement.

Washington state is not exactly the easiest state to deal with when it comes to missing or lost titles, Calif on the other hand...I had that DMV wired and know more arcane crap that the non-working workers never heard of. The trick is to study the vehicle code and copy the applicable passage and present it to them...bureaucrats have to acknowledge their own rules when you show them to them LOL

Bwahahahaha!

Maybe it's not stolen, could be that he just found it before the owner lost it...or perhaps it's been borrowed on a permanent basis!
