The bodge alarms are going off but it's mixed.
1. Crash bars are proper Vigano, but the crest shows piaggio, not normal bodge but not quite right.
2. the passenger seat pan is not correct to the sprint, it's from a VBB. bodges often swap them the other way.
3. the reciepts, but really? an SS bodge? SS has the correct fork and engine (judging from the fan cover)

The paperwork is a little funny, but what the hell, go check them out if you are close. And bring a magnet.

Doh. On first glance if you look past the crash bars it seems good. But if it's too good to be true, it most likely is!

The other thing that sounds suspect is they have been left outside for a decade, but don't look like they have any rust visible in those photos.

There's some rust. Floorboards by the tunnel and the rear of the SS. Some of the chrome has some rust too. Maybe they had covers? It's way less rust than you'd expect that's for sure. Especially being in Seattle with all that rain and salty air

That's because compared to SE Asia, Seattle is dry air.

lotta rot visible around that body. I'd probably let myself get suckered in at 600 since there are plenty of valuable bobs on it. Another bad frame to complain about with friends online is priceless, right? Laughing emoticon

You'd easily spend 5 to 7k restoring that. The advert stating what it could be worth is irrelevant. The notion that you can make money on restoring something this far gone is a myth.

If you're interested in and capable of doing of doing things like a floorboard replacement yourself, there might be something there, but even that is a stretch.

I'm with you. It all just… well… odd?

But somebody that has that has to know what it is, right? Plus the sprint?

If it was local? I'd show with cash. But ready to walk if anything smelled like day old sushi.

Can somebody elaborate for me why the Ape had such a pathetic CC for what is in effect a 3 wheeled car? What was the logic for a 50cc , allowing younger drivers to operate or something ?

Glad it's not near me, if body was solid, wouldn't matter if it smelled a bit like day old tuna.

P200 in Lake City (Seattle) for 2k. A little rough but not a basket case by any stretch.

My guess is trying to get people to paypal/venmo money to "hold it" because it's coincidentally near enough to drive from Chicago (and maybe show up in the "search nearby" on Chicago craigslist), but also too far away to just go grab it.

Also, the fact it had been up for 8 hours by the time I saw it. Dead giveaway right there.

Hey all. Not sure it's fair to post the one that didn't get away but I just picked this up last weekend.

Minus minor rust and dust it's exactly like it left the showroom and sitting in my garage.

That's a great score!

I have one of those windscreens that I got with my Sprint.

It kind've made sense in Chicago when riding in the cold, but what's it for in Sarasota? Are the bugs that bad?
