I am struggling with this. It's very tempting.
The stock P. Love it.

Consider it a smart investment, just in fun to have a bike NOT in pieces that you can ride. But also hard to imagine how you could get upsidedown on the money end unless the motor is wrecked. Seller says nothing about it running, just lots of enticing pictures - Give them a call to help you decide!!!

I'll call about it tomorrow. It seems like a really good price.
Even if it needs a new crank or top end or whatever. I'm guessing it runs and has a title if it's in a shop. Looks like a perfect bike to ride around. I really miss riding. And I'm taking forever to build my rally. I actually like p200s the best of any vespa. The suspension and electrical systems are so much better. ![]() I sold my beater p200, which was actually pretty nice. But not perfect. I miss it.

One of my friends is wanting a Vespa. Good thing that P200 wasn't posted up two weekends ago, (during my 3500 mile road trip to buy 2 KTM dirtbikes) because I was definitely within striking distance. There was absolutely zero space left in the bed of the truck (or even inside the truck for that matter). I probably would have searched Craigslist for a bike hitch carrier (or bought one a harbor freight) to make it happen.

And if it it's a 1970s or 80s bike with oil injection, 200cc anything, CEV lights, MPH speedo, plastic fuel switch: Those are all American market.

That was no bodge. It was someone's well-loved scoot. 13,000 miles and a UCLA parking sticker. Hope it went to a good home.

If you know of one, please post up a pic? TIA. |

There just aren't P series bodges. It's like smallframes - there are no smallframe bodges except the home brewed kind. Plenty of people who butcher scoots over here, but it's a different can of worms.

If we're talking Viet Nam, then the timeline helps tell why. The war heated up in the 60s and disrupted imports from Italy, but Ps didn't appear until the 70s. Why no smallframes? Because this was the family CAR in many cases, so why complicate things like service and parts w/ some lesser model I guess?
A few P clones from India & Indonesia I've seen, but just different, not really bodges

I'm mainly thinking of that as an engine, a fork, a fender, a glove box, and headset, maybe some turn signals.

Buy both the P2 and that yellow go kart for a $1000 package deal. Then install P2 lump into the kart. Done and done.

That bike doesn't look bad at all.
Looks sad without tires, but looks straight. Is this a 125 coil? Hard to tell in small photos. Doesn't look like a Ducati CDI. ![]() |

$900 is easy money on that P. not far off anyway...Probably neg it down a bit with cash on the barrel. If its solid, engine turns over...good for parts or a project. Someone stop mulling it over and grab it

Hard to tell in the photo. The frame looks funly there, but it might just be the photo. Looks like some spry paint, maybe.
It has no major visible rust, but sun damage. The reflectors are totally bleached out. That bike is totally salvageable. It doesn't look bad at all. |
