Was about to say, "now that looks like an honest original bike" then I noticed...

square tail + VBA style front fender + VNB front brake hub + Vespa 150 badge + bolted on helmet hook.

I'm with you Mr. Owens. the more I look at it the more I'm seeing.

if I had to warrant a guess, it's a cobbled together bike from several projects. it looks okay, but just too many question marks at that price.

It certainly has had stuff done, likely when the motor was done. But I wanna know about the paint and other stuff, most of this stuff is fairly minor: except the square tail which I thought is normal on a '64?

my point was only that that list of things don't belong on the same bike. so if '64 the fender is wrong, if 60-61 the fender is correct but tail is wrong, if a 150 then the hub is wrong, and in all cases the helmet hook is wrong. the paint looked like it could be original but given that the fender and frame can't be from the same year that would make OG paint impossible.

could still be a good bitza... just know that's what it is.

I really would prefer an unmolested round tail in original paint. Is that too much to ask?

that's a smoking deal and it appears to have pretty recent tags too!

It might be a respray. Looks like what could just be artifacts in the image, but may also be drips on the mudguard and legshield.

My personal theory is that someone restored it without knowing the Vespa-specific stuff, got the LML motor along with a bunch of cheap-o ebay trim, grips, etc., and five or ten years later is selling it on.

HF lift alert. 4 more available I picked one up for $200. All parts are there and working. Needs a good pressure wash and lube.

Would you mind telling me the measurements of the top table? Length & width, also how hight does it raise? I'm doing some restructuring in the shop, and want to see how a lift will fit in. thanks!

just remember that you need about 3ft of clearance on the sides to work freely, front isn't as critical in that you're rarely attacking from head on. at the back plan on the length of one bike plus about 2ft off the end of the ramp for run up.

Got the Kendon lift out and the HF in. Not as fun as it sounds. I did need to spend an extra $13 for a piece of rebar for a locking bar but still a killer deal.

First one in for new front brake caliper.

I went over to the antique shop where I found my Vespa to see if they had anything cool there and found this nice looking 1950s Lambretta. I don't know much about these at all, but it looks like it's in really nice original condition. The tag said "$4995 Does not run" which is probably pretty over valued, but it's negotiable. I know these typically go for more than Vespas do.

If it was a couple years later, a series 1 or 2, it would be worth that. LDs are kind of odd bikes that look very vintage, but never seem to get ridden.

they are not fast, but there are kits now. 3 speed, odd engines but cool in a way. If you wanted an LD I'd say that would be the one to pick up. I've never seen one that clean that was not restored.

Parts availability was something I wondered about, as all the US based Vespa shops seem to be Vespa only.

I think there are more lambretta shops than Vespa ones now.

The shop owner (why would you paint your whole building flat black?) told me he has a PA title. I'm thinking....if you could buy it for $2.5K and end up putting in another $2K. Wouldn't be a bad deal at that price point.

Oh definitely. You could get it professionally buffed and polished, probably needs new seals and bearings, tires, etc.

And it could be like museum quality.

Ha, yes an interesting character for sure. He seems to be interested in these old scooters but also doesn't seem to know much about them mechanically. He claimed he had mine running around the parking lot when I went to look at it the first time, despite the fact that it's gearbox and carburetor were both completely gummed up and it didn't have a spark plug.

Good parts haul. I already asked if he would sell the MM tail light separately. The answer was no. If this wasn't a 18 hour round trip for me, I'd be all over it. If someone buys this lot, let's talk about the tail light.

I'm very close. I am not at all excited about it. . . As 1/2 would be thrown out. But if there is enough there that people want, I might go buy it and ship individual items out. Let me know.

I'm with Gick on this one. I looked at it and saw a couple 2-port motors worth of maybe-parts, one definitely trash frame, one possibly usable frame, and a bunch of random stuff that I wouldn't put in a bike.

Could you make a profit on parting it out? Absolutely. Is it worth the effort? I don't think so.

i am ONLY interested in the speedo. If i could sale parts to make back the $900 plus fuel, i am good with that.

1/2 that shite would go in the trash.

The DASMI seat. Those cowl bars are kind of a pain, but the center footrest is great, and it projects out enough to catch the bike if it falls.
