I must also be part Spanish...I have GP side panels and a front mudguard on my 1974 Serveta.

DOUBLE LIKE!!

Very keen eye! I completely missed it peeking out from behind the pile of rubbish. It appears to be a 1983 XR200R or XR250R? I'm going with 200R since with the amount of hording that's going happening on the property, the owners...i mean whoever is currently in possession of that bike surely is incompentent enough to thow a leg over the top of a 250. But the real reason is that i bought a used 1983 XR200R back in early highschool (around 1990). Me living out on a farm in a rural area gave me (a 16 year old kid) the freedom to go explore the miles and miles and miles of trails overgown trails out where i live. Hop on the bike, take a left turn out of the driveway onto the gravel county road, and in less than 2 miles i would be on a trail system for hours! I currently have a large grip of KTMs (which are awesome), but my old 1983 XR200R will always be my most funnest bike/scooter i had or will ever have. That being said, i don't want another. Those days are gone and i'd prefer to just reminisce how awesome it was.

ie. a place where us deplorable scalawags hang about to further our spiraling addiction into full blown reprehensible levels.

80% of what shows up here would be unfit for a first time owner, but the few that do are gold. of the 80% that's left is basically a spin the wheel of: that's a good deal for parts, if you had "X" you could make "Y" with that, if you had time and a garage full of spares that would be a smoking deal.

I, for better or worse have come to a reckoning. Kajit house of wares storage area is moving to make way for an automotive lift which meant pulling all the stuff off the pallet racks, the storage racks and consolidating boxes of stuff into bigger boxes for the immediate short term.

let's just say that I stopped to count the number of engines, JUST the lucys, and was into double digits. not including modern or Lambretta engines.

there were several moments I wondered aloud: why do I have all this shit?!??

LOL....we're both in the exact same sinking boat Greasy. I bought a 2 post automotive lift this past summer, but since there's so much crap in my shop, i have no where to put it! I'm having to go though my whole shop and slowly expunge whatever i won't be realistically using. My goal is to get the lift set up this coming summer. My buddy got a nice 2 post lift two years ago...and all of a sudden he has a LOT more friends now. I ended up mounting an old school coin operated parking meter (that's fully functional) on his lift, just so people would get the message. I'll have to get a pic of the parking meter.

Perhaps you have a rebuildable P200 engine that is taking up an inordinate amount of precious cubic feet?

Pretty sure my scooter mojo will be directed toward getting my small collection to the nth degree of restored, rather than buying more projects. After that, it will be a few carefully built, mildly tuned engines. I also want to get my bus in paint within the next 2 years.

The only kind of scooter project that might motivate me otherwise is a dirt cheap, basket case Lambretta or some kind of odd ball machine from the golden age of scooters or former Soviet bloc country.

Yeah…hanging around here, chances are that sooner or later that special scooter would turn up. I think it's also the smaller scale of scooter projects (compared with a car restoration) that makes taking in more so appealing. Only a year in, I have accumulated 3 additional engine cases and maybe enough parts to get a couple of them together…in addition to the complete engines that came with the scooters. Nowhere near that for my bus in decades of wrenching on it. A sweep the floor bus engine is also on my list, just to get rid of stuff.

Every time, I tell myself get it running and sell it on to someone else who will appreciate it. Then I get em running and can't part with them cause I keep telling myself they are harder and harder to come by.

Next thing you know you got no room and no time to get any of them running and the ones that are just keep breaking, only putting you back further and further behind.

Love it, and hate it, and can't let any of them go!

Finally picked up a Harley that needs no work so that I can at least stop trying to rush to get one of these running and keep them running long enough so I have something to ride and not get set back on all the Vespas projects by that every time one goes down.

At least that's what I'm telling myself about adding the Harley into the mix. Time will tell if that pans out. I'm already catching myself trying to track down non op Harleys to fix and flip (hoard) just like these Vespas. Seriously don't have any room or time for that, no matter how much I want to!
