is the 4t fork the same? the bike is only 500, you don't need much to make it a decent parts buy....

I'm sure you could flip the motor for a few bucks and come out even stevens. |

No wonder why the seller can't find the title. That's a Copart auction sticker that's still on that Stella's windscreen. That means that the scooter has a salvage title, but the seller doesn't want to admit to it.

Not mine... This familiar listing is back after a 1-2 year hiatus.
Did anyone get the lowdown on this? I haven't seen in person as it's 2 hrs from me, and I happen to already have a GL project in storage, if this IS a legit GL that is.. The ad has been up 30 days at this point. https://boston.craigslist.org/nos/mpo/d/lynnfield-1964-vespa-150gl/7556956648.html |

Maybe just the fork, but it's hard to tell from looking at that picture of the legshield. Maybe from whatever they hit that bent up the mudguard and right side of the legshield. If you wanted a bare metal teardown project and (I'm guessing) don't mind getting a title for it, it'd be a deal at $800. |

Just from the pics, the GL is a bit bashed up, is missing the L side cowl and most trim pieces, and then who the heck knows what's lurking under engine cowl and the odd re-paint job.
Maybe for someone who doesn't already have too many projects -- and who knows that it costs at least $1k to rebuild a bike with only the basics these days. Feels like parts costs have almost doubled in the last 5 years. |

The GL's got plenty of dings, for sure, but I don't see anything major that can't be hammered out or replaced. Trim and badge are missing but looks like the horn, headlight, tail light, switch, hubs are original, grips too. Can't really see the paint through the layers of dust. Maybe I'm biased. Mine wasn't exactly a beauty when I found it.

Mine wasn't exactly a beauty when I found it. My GL project awaits. The PO painted her dark blue with a rattle can, and it formerly was painted red. It's got some floor bottom rust, so I'll likely have it stripped to bare metal to see what we're dealing with. It also was missing its motor but I found another GL one in NYC. ![]() ![]() |

I think the GL was probably the best looker of them all. And SoCal - yours turned out fantastic. Nice when all the hard work comes together.

I was hoping you would reply Mr. Gick. This is definitely at the deep end for a fool like me, but I know from other projects that if all the parts are not there, it becomes a long term parts search. Indeed, not for faint of heart.
