I don't know that this is quite a proper DOTD without further inspection at $1,200, but if anyone is interested, I'm happy to go check it out and facilitate the transaction.

I'd say both of those P's are DOD. at 400 unless the cases are verkakte that's a can't miss. the blue one looks like the cowls were repainted, but appears to otherwise be solid and unmolested piece. maybe kick more toward 1 because of the no title.

I think it's in the worst possible location to get someone to check it out. Knoxville is about 3 hours away from everyone on here I know of, including me.

it is a cool bike. I'd be happy to buy something else cheap from greasy to help fund it
![]() As is I will be up there in a few weeks spending hundreds on a replacement engine and some parts for that ET4 he just sold me. Maybe we can stuff more in the back of the minivan.

Well, It bothers me to see these nice old scoots being converted over. But I can understand if you live in an area like London, Paris, etc... Meanwhile, this isn't a lot of coin thrown into a frame for an electric start up, if it's a scooter look you are going for.

4T Bajaj's are terrible: parts are not available so if something breaks (like a fuel petcock) you're kind of screwed.

DOTD? Possibly.
Piaggio Ape https://scootnet2.net/index.php?do=showone&id=1167 This is the one a couple blocks from me that I met the owner and helped get it running again last summer. It only needed a carb clean and new fuel lines. My thread here: 1984 Piaggio Ape P 501 Service and Repair! Passenger door needs bending on the hinge to get it to stay closed. Dash wiring needs a little work. Control cables could be replaced. Other than that, it runs fine! The owner offered it to me first, and I would absolutely love to own this, but I just can't afford it, nor do I even remotely have the space to store this thing! I'm sure I'm passing up on the only chance I'll ever get at owning an Ape, but it's not in my cards. Someone else on here would probably treat this thing the way it should be. ![]() ![]() |
