Modern Vespa

1979 Vintage Vespa P125X. Still original (99% complete) condition. This means it has not been repainted or altered in any way. Motor was started two years ago, but has not been started since. The speedometer shows 666 miles, but who knows if this is correct. The body is dent free with minor surface rust. We are selling this scooter AS IS with no papers or warranty. The right person could make this unit into a show piece.

If the ad is posted here without a phone number or direct e-mail then I don't see an issue as the CL e-mail will "die" after the ad expires or is pulled, and that way the seller won't endure any calls long after the bike is sold.

How about this one, the seller promises "If you're a man women will chase you down and attempt naughty things with you every time you ride by. If you're a women men will buy you drinks and try to beat up your husband. If you're something in between you may have men and women chasing you with their husbands/wives. I'd keep it but my girlfriend is suspicious every time I ride. "

But I won't know the ad has been deleted from craigslist unless I go there and search for the ad myself. I'll be wasting my time composing emails that don't go anywhere.

I appreciate your efforts and I know that there aren't really posting guidelines for this thread, but I would like to make a suggestion. Don't copy a craigslist ad here, or at least post a link to the ad. That Primavera ad is over a month old and you left off the price ($600). The other ad has a phone number in it (don't know if this one is from craigslist). The beauty of craigslist is that the user can edit or delete the ad when the item is sold. By reposting all of the ad, you are potentially putting the ad out there after the owner has sold the scooter. These are just my thoughts, take it or leave it. If these are your ads, more power to ya.

No problem. In the long run, it probably won't matter much. I think that calabrese loves to argue, though.

Up for sale is an extensive collection of Cushman Motor scooters ranging from the mid 40's to mid 60's. In total, there are the makings of 18 motorcycles....and there are 26 motors.

The inventory goes as follows....chronologically:

1- 30's series frame / forks / fender
5- 50's / 60's series step thru frames...one 50's and one 60's series body
1- Sears Allstate frame & body
1-Highlander frame / body
2-55 thru 57 Iron Eagle frames
1-60 thru 65 Super Eagle Frame / body
6-60 thru 65 Iron Eagle Frames
1-60 thru 61 Trailster

two side car frames / one body ( the body is in poor shape)
and a few cushman airborne parts...barrel body

Not to mention the 26 Cushman Husky Motors....various different types / bores / configurations fitting all the different models. Some have the heads taken off...but they are packed away in boxes. There are tons of flywheels / magnetos pullies / clutch components too. There are also transmissions...but just a half dozen or so.

There are boxes and boxes of parts that go with the bikes....scripts, headlights, magnetos, trim pieces, brake components, hubs, fenders, seat pans and other accessories just to name a few. There are an assortment of forks, handlebars and seats for various models.

It's an overwhelming amount of stuff, but for the right person it's a gold mine.

This sounds fishy to me. 90% of the handlebar bikes I see are bodges. Vespa wasn't making handlebar scooters in 1959.
