the '73 super had signature script and no turn signals. simple reliable charging system and wiring.
Cases are 2 port but the 3rd port area is flat, so that opens up kit options.

Original looking 63 Allstate, with Stella engine and a title, good start to a project. The original link was from a private FB group, so not viewable. Here's a snip. Asking $1500.

if you're into that sort of thing, that's a pretty decent deal for a bike that could be really fun

I sent that link to a friend of mine. He said a 350cc sounds boring.

Basket case 1975 Rally. Way too much of a project for me and obnoxious that he didn't list a price, but maybe someone will see a DOD in this.

A Sprint 150 for $8,000? How does that work? Does a side car really make it that much more valuable?

I do end up with a little sensible money after the mad money goes. Just enough for some keep going bits for the Stella, so I can't complain. |

skids wrote: Thank you! This is the question I am asking myself and the reason for the post. Just for the sake of discussion to get the collective's opinion can we consider some of the stuff in the post please? If true do they add value? 1. It has black Cali plates issued in year of manufacture. 2. It has had structural reinforcing to frame and modifications to the engine to make it reliable. 3. Sidecar is "quality reproduction" of period correct "Rocket". I know that you can spend a lot of money on any vehicle and do a really quality job and document everything and still you are lucky to get your money back out of it, depending on the vehicle. I have also heard from family members back in the day that a Shelby Cobra or speedster kit assembled in the garage will sell for more than what you have invested and could be considered a viable business enterprise in the right circumstances (if you don't have to rent a workshop space). You may not make a lot but you get to work in your own garage with your own dogs, cats, and beer breaks on something that for the most part you enjoy doing. If I go by a couple of the previous posts the "priced to move" amount for this is $3,500 - $4,000. Is that correct? Don't you think its still a DOD @ $6,000 if the listing is accurate and all work to the scoot very high quality? I rarely see a scooter with a sidecar come up for sale. I will fully admit to not really knowing the value of the not so modern scoots hence the posting and questions. There is someone in my area listing a 1982 Toyota 4wd pickup for $42,000. From the pictures on the listing he has a really nice garage and reading between the lines I am guessing he does this for a living as well as a hobby. The point is that if you pick the correct vehicle you may actually get more than what you put into it. I am guessing that a 1969 original black plate 150 sprint with sidecar is not it? For me, having an original black plate adds no monetary value to the scooter. You can get black vanity plates now if you want. Little extra $$ and you can choose black, Yosemite, a whale etc etc. Structural reinforcements looks like just the sidecar mounting to the Legshield. Anyone see something I don't? Stella motor with a 166 kit is better than the original Sprint motor, but I'd want to know who did the build. Best case it can maybe pull 40 mph with the weight of the sidecar? I don't see a steering dampner. With a sidecar it's essential to have one. Otherwise she'll tank slap like a mother f*! I bought a 10 year old Ural for $7500. 750cc, two wheel drive. For this, id barely pay what this person has into it. $2k for the scoot and $2k for the sidecar. |
