Ok. Ok.
Not '69.
(Fill in Sofia Loren joke here)
I have been known to supply questionable information.
🙂
Pretty sure whodat has a '58 with headset rather than handlebars?
I'm aware of one for sale right now as well - and it's purportedly "58 and has headset.
Think '58 was a cross over year.
I've recently been watching some old film westerns on prime time TV (i don't have cable), and Sophia has been in multiple ones. She was a stunner for sure!
But back to more important material things...
Yes, my rusty vespa is a 1958. Piaggio manufactured the widebody VB1 for two years, 1957 and 1958. I have mine registered as a 1958. The VB1 indeed has the headset. My blue Allstate 208 project is a VNA wideframe. I have it titled as a 1961, but it's really a 1958 or 1959 model. If i ever come across a few more used oregon 1958 or 59 license plates for sale, i might buy them and get DMV to change the year on my scooter, but it isn't really a priority for me. The current 1961 plate that i have is in excellent shape (and i like the colorway of the 61 moto plates.
FYI, way, way, way back, each year the license plates would be a different color. So it's fun to have a bunch of scooters that have different build dates, since all the license plates will be different colors.
