I thought about picking this up but the seller is being cagey and not really responding to questions directly. 'come check it out'.

frame looks like it was rear ended, no signals on the cowls, no mirrors and it was laid down on it's left side during the crash.
ouch. might be rideable, but you have more than 1k in parts too.

I'm in the market for a stella fork and disc brake assembly, but I don't suffer fools or particularly want to part out bikes.

I have enough scooter crap in my basement.

It would be cool to convert it to radial brake caliper with a floating disk. i know someone who can machine your drum for it. i might be interested in the engine.

Just a majorly bent frame. No biggie.

That thing is a parts pile with a title. Motor, disc brake, maybe front fork, and headset/cowls/mudguard/glovebox.

I'd be interested in the motor if someone wants to part it out, though...

agreed.

even if you just pulled what you wanted, say the fork and motor, you could probably sell off the scraps for about 3 hundy or so.

I'd show with 800 cash and start at 5

nonsense!

a dirty 30 of hi-life, a handle of bad vodka, a 4 pack of red bull and a weekend with some friends makes this happen easily.

it's basically zero risk. you're not gonna make it any worse than it already is and even if you totally junk it up? pull the fork and motor, sell off whatever you can and trash the rest.

Bodge-aj?

Seems like whoever created that abomination would have had the fabrication skills necessary to get a 2t motor fitted to that frame. Just sayin…

Vespa Scooter - $2,000 (Elgin)

This is a 125cc Scooter that I believe is a 1965 or 1966 , I bought it from a now retired co-worker who owned it originally since he was a kid. There was no title that he ever held. I checked with the Illinois DMV and they have no record of it. These were sold from Sears back in the day. Vespa runs but the body is rough

ohhh. smallstate!

it's got the important bits, but with that body I think it's a little high.

if you really wanted a smallstate, this would be an ideal starting point. but man, you gotta really want it.

A little high, but not bad. One sold in my area recently - same year, MM light. $1200 and I messaged 15 minutes after the post was up and it was gone already. I would show up with a fist full of dollars and make an offer on this one.

If I were in the market I'd give them $1500 and ride it as is. It's hard to tell without hearing it, though. "Runs" can mean a lot of things.

Up in New Hampshire. It's $50. I have at least two of these that're in much worse shape. Don't know anything about this one though.

that frame looks a little sus on the floor, kinda Swiss cheesy breezy. if it were something special worth saving? maybe, but otherwise unless you needed it for patch panels...

that P is cheap, but that's a lot of work for a motor. there's some other bits there but that thing is so hammered there's not much to salvage.

motor, some sketchy cowls, seat, some odds and ends. I'd do it but only if space is plentiful. I'm sure you could knock off a bit.

$750 Stella - hes trying to sell both, but will go as low as 750 for what looks like a 2k5 that needs a carb rebuild and maybe a fresh fuel line.

11 hours from me so ill have to pass but Shepherdsville, KY is fairly close to Nashville, St Louis and Indianapolis.

Based on the single photo, $750 for that Stella is a solid DOD. It probably will need a new crankshaft before long. Otherwise, it looks like it will clean up quite nicely. If you just want to ride, if pedigree is not that important, and if you're a little handy, you can't go wrong with a cheap Stella.

Certainly not DOTD…

Wondering where this lies on the pricing continuum, with DOTD at one end and Bring a Trailer bodge at the other.

I saw that and I'm not sure where it should fall on the pricing spectrum. The pic you posted shows it off best...

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

But a couple of issues to consider:

1 The body is damaged a few places as noted by seller.

2 The engine is highly modified, could be good OR bad.

3 Was it originally white as suggested in the pic above? Seller has a can of matching paint suggesting it was repainted.

4 Given all that, it is considerably overpriced IMO. There have been better Rallys posted recently for less.

it's one of those: on one hand [this] but on the other hand [all of this].

the one thing I can tell you unequivocally is that if you were starting from zero-point-zero, you couldn't build it for that.

pros: rally in what appears to be OG paint, with most all of the bits there. OG seat. cali rack. converted to Ducati, has some type of rear shock. road pipe with an extra JL, sip tubeless rims with new what appear to be hedi's.

cons: not stock motor, tail light, ticky-tacky stuff like the speedo not working and the bumps and bruises, 74 wiring, no signals.

push: it's a malossi, with a dell 30 and reed. with the pipes, and the rims and tires, it means somebody was buying good parts so I'd jump to say the engine rebuild is okay too.

on one hand, it's a decent bike that has hot rod stuff; on the other it's not that original any longer and it's not stock. for that kind of money I'd want a very presentable survivor bike that's either completely stock or very very near to that.
