Beautiful deal??? That original speedometer is worth more than $100, even if it needs repair!

The red Allstate is in such nice original condition that I think it's priced OKish even if no bargain. Also includes the original rare hard to find speedometer which is somehow usually missing.

All there if the pics and description are accurate.
Looks straight. (Too bad they started stripping paint though. Womp womp)

It's local …so I can grab if anyone was seriously interested.

Should read. Had an original running Vespa. Thought I could sell it for more if I restored it. So I ripped it to pieces and wrecked the paint. Now I am selling it for much less.

if you've sold on FB marketplace, you'd understand. they have a button for "is this still available" as a message to the buyer. you will get about a dozen of them in the first hour. i'm not sure if they are bots or what. but i don't respond to them anymore either. if you want to talk to me, you have to write anything other than a canned button response in the FB app. just like that dude, I say so also, so that people who read will give me a response that isn't automated. if you can't do that, then just piss off. In my experience, those first dozen are all scammers trying to social engineer you to hack your FB and or email account. The real shoppers show up a couple hours after that.

Gotcha. Stopped doing FB years ago. Sounds like a another reason to avoid it.

Speaking of deals … friend of mine picked this up as part of a multiple vehicle barn raid. Got it running for him. Don't really know anything about about them. He's selling for $650. Anyone interested?

You don't see these GTRs often. That looks like the original pale red color. I didn't see any mention of a title in the ad -- maybe I'm blind.

Wise choice. Right before my foot surgery (like 3 days before) i took a 2000 round trip drive to buy a KTM parts bike down in Socal. I made it back home about 12 hours before my surgery. Then about 2-3 weeks later i bought three(!) more out of state KTM 990 Adventure bikes. I have a feeling that the meds i was still on at the time played a very large role in the purchases. I will admit that all three bikes were the particular years and specific models that i had been searching after for a few years.

I used to have a 71 GTR. I really liked it. At some point the stock 125cc cylinder was swapped out for a 150. That transmission and 150 cylinder combo made gobs of torque for climbing hills. I would have kept it, but i needed a faster actual cruising speed than 55mph.

I'm kind've digging that Bajaj. Especially at that price.

What I would not be digging is the process of explaining to my wife that the ginormous glovebox meets the definition of "needing" another scooter.

Let's face it though, the MotoVespa is like a Unicorn in the US. Razz emoticon

Its on the San Francisco craigslist and it was a two-fer but now it looks like its just listed as the one? Regardless a previous post in this thread said he was asking 18 for the blue and now its listed by itself for 16.

Somebody better get this I just don't have room.

biggest question there is the condition of the tunnel / floor. it looks sketchy, definitely needs a close inspection.

I agree w/ John. Lowered price and I bet there were some lookers who didn't like what they saw on that floor & tunnel. I'm guessing maybe the left side was parked towards the ocean and exposure to wet salty air, the other side tucked into a building w/ overhang, more protected but who knows. Check the front wheel rusted left side but not the right.

Still 1600 for a 2900 mile P200 motor, fork, headset, clean cowls & mudguard(w/ reflectors), decent seat, BBQ rack w/ desirable back rest and even a lovely tractor tail light. Add all that up and tell me what you come up with.

I think you just distilled this thread down perfectly.

I have a love-hate with this thread, though, because I always want to jump on those true DoTD's, even when it makes no sense to do so.

That $500 50 Special in Atlanta a few months ago is still haunting me.

Definitely not. I'm not sure I would do it either unless it was something rare. Not so much because I am interested in the rarer models. For the time and aggravation involved you'd be miles and dollars ahead sourcing a clean P frame.
