I suppose if it needs to be added to the stable… so be it…

It's not even the peer pressure. After all, I get to ride a lot more than they do, but there seem to be more lammy events than anything else in/near here.

Lambrettas... made in Italy.
Pushed Everywhere.

I thought I wanted a lambretta until about the 5th or 6th time the throttle cable disengaged from the carb. I was so sick of fiddling with it after a month or two I sold it on and never looked back.

The simplicity of the Vespa engineering is pretty exceptional. Lammy's are like the stripper girlfriend. Nice to look at, but someone, somwhere is probably definitely sick of her shit.

I've always liked the way Lambrettas look, but they do seem more complex. Maybe someday, but I have enough projects going for the foreseeable future.

Hahaha. I have noticed at EVERY rally there's at least one guy with a nice Lammy kicking it like a madman while the rest of the crowd pulls out of the parking lot.

I was impressed at not only the sheer number of Lambrettas at ROM but the relative lack of issues with them compared to normal.

They've already experienced me going much deeper into motors on the fly than some of them would go in their own garages.

I'm not sure I'm a full-on Honorary Dark Lord when it comes to roadside repairs, but their idea of maximum roadside repair is "replacing a broken cable inner." Mine is "picking rings out of a melted piston" or "cruciform replacement." Laughing emoticon

Ha! That would be good for someone with an engine ready to go if the body isn't wasted and the paperwork is on the up and up. I don't see any cherishing going on in any way. Definitely needs a set of points.🤣 Good one John.

that's 1K worth of parts or, as I like to play it: how to negotiate a 1K bike to 800 get touched up for 400 in back fees and wind up with a ratty runner for 3K and a whole bunch of blood, sweat, tears and mercato orders.

According to the craigslist post for that "cherished" scooter it has a 125 engine in it so it might have points. It's a very confusing ad.

I received rescind my previous statement and offer the following correction: how to haggle a 1K scooter down to $500 and wind up with a $2800 dollar beater after a trip to the DMV, digging thru my parts stash and the usual blood, sweat, tears and at least two orders on top of the two orders for the stuff I forgot from mercato.

I know sidecars can cause extra wear but 107 og miles look legit. $2,500 stella DOTD?

that's probably market on that - not really DOTD but a nice scooter with low miles and recent service. that is my attaching 0 value to the sidecar because I don't value it. however, to the right person - free sidecar = good value.

it should move pretty quickly, but as the purchaser - if you don't want the sidecar you have the hassle of trying to get rid of it...

dude have you tried selling anything lately? people are 100% flaky these days, and a sidecar is a specialty item to the max. in theory it's great but in reality you're going to get 150 facebook marketplace posts saying "is it still available" with no follow up and 2 dudes who want you to take it to them and pay them for taking it away ROFL emoticon. it's sad but true.
