dude have you tried selling anything lately? people are 100% flaky these days, and a sidecar is a specialty item to the max. in theory it's great but in reality you're going to get 150 facebook marketplace posts saying "is it still available" with no follow up and 2 dudes who want you to take it to them and pay them for taking it away ROFL emoticon. it's sad but true. Facepalm emoticon
100% this. It is a nightmare out there. I'm gonna offload a few cars, and then everything else I am keeping forever- its a $500-$1000 worth of time proposition just to sell something. I used to regularly get about 5 tire kickers, 20 questions and 2 real buyers. (one who would ultimately buy it) Now its 500 stupid questions, 200 complete ghostings and 1 real buyer who could be the first guy or the 500th guy. My favorite new line is "Well, if you don't have ALL the service records, nobody is going to be interested. People want the service records" this for a $2000 car, not a 70K collectors item.

I was looking at it and thinking that while I can't really point to anything specific, other than maybe all that screwed on rusty-ass chrome, it still just feels off to me.

Plus the fact that the flywheel and carb are on the ground next to it doesn't inspire confidence there's going to be anything more worth keeping than the frame, panels, and fork.

those seats are always a red flag to me. the headlight rim looks just off but that might be the angle. there's something about the paint that is making my spidey senses tingle. and yeah, seeing the flywheel on the ground is not exactly inspiring...

The speedo not sitting right was the first thing I saw. And something with the paint job. If it was close, I'd have a look. But I'm not and don't feel like burning a day driving plus gas, food, etc.. Thanks guys, a second and third set of eyes always helps.

So a rusty non-running barn find Struzzo priced at $2500 is a deal then? Or is it only a deal if you already have the little bits and bobs to make it complete?

The guy sent a vid. Numbers are stamped the wrong side of the frame. Paint has chips with a layer of bondo underneath. The fly side seal area has a smear of goo on the outside of the case. If I had seen it in person, I would not have been able to run away fast enough. He also has a Super project up for sale which basically is a parts pile.

$3500 for a smallframe is steep

is that really original paint? the nicks on the headset make me question.

it is a nice bike, maybe high 2's like $2800 or something

smallies don't get the love on the market, unfortunate but true. only way they make dough is if it's rare or hard to find.

Battery door too looks like bad paint match or?

...agree 3500 is a bit spendy, but only a bit if titled and the paint is better than the pics show (doubtful).

yeah, maybe. but the market decides. even with 1 year only, the smallframe price ceiling may still apply. they just don't fetch bank. i think they are badass, but the market usually says not so much.

I think while Smallies are much more badass to ride (can be, anyway), they don't evoke nearly the aesthetic sense that largeframes (or wideframes) do.

I LOVE vespa 400s... I've had one myself and got it back to running shape. It was rough with it being 100% complete. This one would be an uphill battle the whole way... But, given how rare they are, might be worth slapping a different transaxle in there, welding in a floor, and then still never driving it because the brakes are terrible and the whole thing is made of 18 gauge steel! Haha. But regardless of all its errors, man is this still tempting for me...
