Thanks Everyone! My wife kicked all the scooters out of the house a few years ago.

The cheap AC from Lowes was maybe the best thing I've ever put in the garage. If your right in front of it you can work on your scooter in the middle of the Texas summer.

That unknown Vespa is a 66' Bluebadge 125 smallframe. Not bad price for a project bike like that. I would snatch that up if I lived closer.

I drove 2.5 ish hours and went and picked it up. Got it for $600. Guy was really nice and had a amazing shop. I talked to him and his grand dad bought it with rust and original white paint and rode it like that for a year before he passed away. And he was so happy to see a younger kid was buying it and taking interest in it. But we exchanged information and when we complete it he is coming here to see it finished and take a couple pictures back home with him.

I just went this past weekend and wasted 2 hours driving for this scooter. The engine is locked up and the body is horrible shape. The front wheel cowl is cracked and dented ALL over. The leg shield is cracked and bent. No petcock. The gas and gear shifter turn pretty alright but not the best. Oh and as I told this guy when I was there...he showed us the title for it and I looked up the VIN in my book and it was showing to be a 68', so he is posting it wrong. This will take a LOT of man hours and will turn out to be a HUGE money pit if you don't have the resources. Im not a expert but from what I saw its a paper weight without stripping it down to every last nut and bolt, even wielding the leg shield cause where its cracked its a over laying bend. This guy has been trying to sell this for over a year now and won't go below $500. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I wasn't sure what he was really looking for. I figured that a Contessa is rare enough that someone might be interested.

Craigslist ad for dealer

And the actual dealer in case you want to contact them after the Craigslist ad expires

Ok, so it's kind of modern. But then again, kind of not Razz emoticon

Um...wow
My Grandparents lived 35 miles from Barltesville, Oklahoma. I have been there many times and have never seen a Vespa there. Now I know why, they've been keeping them in storage.

Like New NOS 1969 Vespa 150 with dealer tag and title. Original paperwork and truly a rare survivor. It had been stored since 1969 and shows 2.3 miles on the speedometer. Gorgeous shiny new-like condition, would need to be serviced and made ready to ride. First 2500.00 OBO.

This concerns me a little too. See how high the speedo sticks up. All of the Indian speedo look like that. It could be just not tightened down but someone needs to go into it with their eyes open.

Yeah, that's pretty questionable. I'll bet the "original" paperwork only dates back a few years. Somebody has definitely been messing with that bike, which calls into question all of the lofty claims being made about it.

There's a foot rest just like that one sitting in the display case at my local scooter shop....chrome bits can be tossed on anything but takes a bit more to change a speedo. While I agree this scoot is suspect it's not for the foot rest.

I think that I have seen others with those footrests, also.

I didn't look really closely at it and I an no expert. This doesn't look like an obvious bodge, but doesn't really look like the real deal on close inspection. This is a VBB, right? If so, it isn't a '69 (but still could have been stored since then). If it has been stored since new, where is the run-in sticker?

Here is what it looks like to me-

Hello, you are looking at My 1974 Vespa 200 rally scooter. I purchased it this last summer from the wife of a collector who had it along with many other collectable Italian bikes and scooters. This has 234 original miles on it as the pics show. There are some scrapes on the sides but other than that is in near perfect condition. She was unable to locate the title so this will be sold with a bill of sale. there is a small tool kit in the glove box and I purchased a new battery last fall. Super fun and fast! If your looking for a rally. Here it is! It shifts and runs beautifully. Ask questions before bidding
