Not a huge Stella fan but $1800 seems pretty reasonable for an '05 with 500 miles.

Yeah, it is reasonable. I had a '03 , my first scoot (before I saw the light of Vespa) and it gave me 13K trouble free miles. I sold it to get my first P200. I also had an '09 a few years ago that had never ending electrical problems. I would rather have the Sprint he has, but at $3k, I think that's a bit too high.
I am going to look at both today as I am going to be in the area. If anyone is interested, I could pick up and store either or both at my place.

In Kansas In Kansas if a vehicle is over 35 years old and hasn't been registered in the state for at least 10 years you can get a title with a bill of sale from the seller and a VIN inspection from the Highway Patrol to check that it hasn't been reported stolenfor $20.

I didn't know the seller, but thanks to QAscoot forwarding this listing; now I do! This Vespa is basically in my backyard, about 15 minutes away. The oseller shared some more info with me, and I am going to check it out IRL.

Based on what I know so far, it appears to be annolder maybe early 2000's paint job, and the engine has been redone by a shop in San Diego. The Vesp came out of Temecula CA. I'll report back ince I know if its Bodgearific, or Vespatastic!!

Of course wether or not this come home with me, will depend on various factors:

Wether or not it is a bodge.
- some info leads me to think it is legit and NOT bodge, but as pointed out by others - some things scream bodge. Could be just terrible taste for ebay india parts…

* I'm waiting on more photos from seller.

Missing paperwork in Oregon is not easy to deal with. As far as I know there MUST be a title to transfer or register in Oregon. I havn't had any luck trying without… so the last 2 Vespa's I did with mossing papers I got titles from Saints Title and worked a charm, even if a bit expensive.

Price of course. lol

It is near showroom, with the exception of a few scratches. It has a older Sito muffler, other than that completely stock.

- Fairly straight body, some dents, needs cleaning up, but the tunnel area looks a bit iffy. Pass from me.

The sprint is a beautiful bike! But the seller should definitely doll it up if he's going to be asking for 3 grand.

Wow, GeekLion this is getting exciting!!! Wondering if you'll spot any nice shiny bodge paint that wasn't painted over lol.
In WA, have to make attempts to contact previous owner via registered mail, show the receipts the mail was sent, then apply for registration. Then have to wait three years to pass before they hand new title over. I went thru this with an '09 zuma 50 and have two more years to go. In the meantime it's okay if I sell the scoot, they'll just transfer registration to new owner, who has to wait out the remaining time to get title, but new owner can also sell it before then if they want.

Yeah, but the underneath of the floor puts me off even it was less expensive. And it looks like it was run hard and put away wet. I'm still thinking about the Stella, although the '05 year's model wasn't the best as far as the cranks went.

My bad, I'd only seen what I thought was surface rust. Hadn't seen the cracks and the patch of metal on its way out. Still, I'd probably take a chance, look into the tunnel with an endoscope and inspect the rest of the bike, and patch up the area under the tunnel if the rest was ok; but not at that price point.

The Stella sold yesterday, so the temptation is gone. Thanks for the advice, on the Sprint. With the work it needs, and the price, it's not on the radar.

She's a beaut!! This one of the most classic west coast custom scooter builds, done buy a long time well known SoCal scooterist. Classic UK scooterboy custom style!! 007 has been around in show quality for 20+ years. Not everyone's tast for sure, but classic all around if you know the deep history of scooter people culture, which is more rich than the history of the scoot's themselves. Real Westcoast scooterboys/girls know 007!

Black Beauty made the ride home very well. 25 miles trouble free, until 400 meters from home she died… no spark. Figured it was the CDI, cause the ground was almost broken and was not looking so hot. A short push home, CDI swap; and kicked right up!! Pays to be a hoarder of scooter spares.

I'll report back here more details as I dig in to this beaut. Here's a quick run down of what I know:

Came up to Oregon from Temecula, CA; with the PO. They just moved here a recently, hence why we havn't crossed paths. I believe this to be a 90's-early 2000's 'custom resto'; with some poor choices made on trim and parts selections. Body, and other parts all seem original, and not too much filler, or any telltale bodge signs.

I got a bit more provenance and history, and contacts on who did some work on this; so I feel confident in the buy. VIN checks out, and it has a newer LML crate engine. Started 2nd kick from cold!

Rode 25miles home and it was great!!

Well, it certainly is a classic, in the sense it displays all of the design cues -such as childish drawings and gaudy engraving- seemingly thousands before have set as a trend, if the many cookie cutter clones pasted across the pages of Scootering magazine in the '90s are any indication. It seems every teen's favorite comic book character or rock band has been used by a middle school airbrush artist to "personalize" scooter cowls and legshields at one point or another, and that influence is certainly apparent here.

No disrespect to the builder, owner, or anyone who actually likes this kind of stuff, but I guess I just don't like these custom builds

Just be happy that it's not a Cagney & Lacey themed GP. Imagine Tyne Daly airbrushed on the side panel of a GP while wearing her signature turtleneck sweater.

That being said, you're talking history and nostalgia (and I get that), but my cold perspective was on the trend overall and the execution. I had to cancel my Scootering subscription because the themed scooter features to technical advice/oddball exotic scooters ratio was getting out of hand, so blame my excessive reaction on trauma I guess .

Btw, I was so upset with the themed scooter business that I forgot to congratulate you on the vbb score. Nice job, and have fun with it!

WDC: I'm not sure Cagney & Lacey hasn't been used as a theme at some point. I can think of worse themes though. How about Laverne & Shirley, with Laverne and Squiggy appearing full faced on the panels? Yikes.

T5Bitza ( Jim, RIP) used to post scoots that had these sorts of embellishments - lots of chrome. shiny bits, airbrush scenes and faces. I think he used to have his favorite rugby team painted on his. It's a style thing and while I respect the artist's work and I was always more interested in the mechanics. Different strokes......

Anyone looking for a Stella? Just grabbed this one here in Oregon! Its in great shape, has factory stickers still. Cowl wrapping is vinyl and will be removed. Looks like it just needs a battery, and a quick refresh to make a runner; and a good bath!
