If we're going to include bodges in D.o.t.D. then I'll go with this one. Looks like the price of a bodge is goin' down. No title 'cuz it's an import I suspect. That price is $1000 o.b.o. which means more like "show up with $800, cash."
At that price I'd roll the dice it isn't shit under the shiny paint. http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/mcy/2392445395.html From the ad: "This is a great scooter and I would be asking more for it but it needs a title. I dont have a way to get it to the DMV to get it a title so Im selling it for less." Well, duh! While we're on the topic of outlaw / heroes maybe ride the damn thing over to the DMV? It runs, right? If they ask probing questions like "How did you get it here?" you say, "Buddy with a truck. He went for coffee." Time for another "here in New England" story. Here in New England (where we don't have sales tax, we're not required to wear helmets or insure our vehicles) the Town Clerk is the DMV agent. The Cop Shop is adjacent to the Town Clerk's office if we need an L.E. sign-off on the serial number. (V.I.N. verification) For really sticky motor vehicle paperwork issues we have the actual DMV at the State offices a block away. Never had reason to set foot in there. Sez "Live Free or Die" on the plates when I get 'em. Don't know why anyone lives anywhere else. Well. It snows a lot. Then it rains the rest of the time. |

GS Frame
http://duluth.craigslist.org/mcy/2438700242.html "For sale here I have a real piece of scooter history- a PARTIAL BODY of a 150 GS Series Vespa, which I was told was a 1958 when I bought it and other scooters back in high school. I had been keeping it around to use for extra parts for a 1962, which has since moved on. Obviously this thing is just desirable for parts. It sure as hell isn't going anywhere on its own power- until someone who knows what it is and knows why they need it comes along and does a lot of work. But, that being said, the right experienced Vespa owner could find that the body (with the exception of a slightly bent cowl in front and bent floor rubber holders) is salvageable, and given that the electrical wiring still runs through the body of this scooter, this old beast still has value. But, yeah. It's rough around the edges. No side covers, engine parts or wheels- what you see in the pictures is what's included. I also ain't delivering it anywhere, sorry. So come to Duluth and get your future vintage 1958 hot rod Vespa! " http://images.craigslist.org/3k23m23o95Y45Q35P0b6dcb644ac9fd03124e.jpg |

Red & white curiousity
Quickie research shows the body profile is considerably different from this 1949 model available here http://www.car.gr/classifieds/bikes/view/1436664/ for 9500 euro, so not exactly deal o the day material...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think this one is the real thing but funny that someone's added turns to it as well. ![]() Had I known the vodge thread is still alive, I'd have posted it there, sorry 'bout that. I can't believe nobody has bought this bike yet! $1800 for a bone stock, super nice running Lambretta! If it weren't for shipping costs, I'd buy this to match the bike I already have.

for 8 inch wheels i would suggest a super 150. cheap, easy, and parts are everywhere.
a VBB would work too, but its slower being piston ported. i think scooterlibby(john) in dallas may still have his super for sale in dallas. on CL. |

TravisNJ wrote: So you called and it was not for sale? What a waste of peoples time. There was a post to the Waco craigslist that had a 200 mile 1980 P200E with a dented fender and broken headset for $400. They were also selling two Vespa mopeds with 0 miles for $400 each. I think that I was one of the first people they spoke to and they said that they would have people come out to take a look next week. They got so many emails that the price on the P200E rose from $400 to $900. It went from a great deal to meh. Sometimes people don't think before they post an ad and there are fake ads out there. The only thing worse than the people selling on craigslist are the people buying. I had one guy send me 12 emails in one day wanting to trade me hot wheels and jewelry. I almost told him that I would give him my stuff for free if he could write a complete sentence. |
