1959 Mitsubishi aka Wards Riverside, $1695
http://spokane.craigslist.org/mcy/1548719507.html I've been wondering what constitutes a deal o' the day. Sometimes I see scooters that would be a pretty good deal if you were in the market for that particular model, but I don't list it because it isn't a really good deal. Some stuff is just too interesting not to post, like the Pigeon above. That being said, I will list almost anything under $1000. What is it you people want to see? Are there any Dullivans out there looking for a cheapo project? Or would you like to see affordable and running scoots? I'm not actually in the market (according to my wife). We'll see about that since I might be tempted by a really good deal and I have seen a few this week. I pretty much just like searching. |

Seems like the prices have been rising the past few years for projects. I also see allot of smallies over priced. I'm not in the market for a scoot right now but will be in a few weeks. My wife said no more scooters until tax time but I still love searching for them. The more vintage scoots out there finding their way to enthusiasts the better. I have been thinking about this for some time, too. A how-to to finding a scooter. I pretty much just use google to search craigslist. Beginner: The easiest search is to type "vespa site:craigslist.org" in. Now click show options and select "past 24 hrs" and what you get should be all of the most recent ads to use the word Vespa. Intermediate: You may notice that you get a lot of ads for real estate or people ranting about how Vespas are stupid or someone saw a hottie on a Vespa and they want to hook up. To eliminate these, simply add "mcy" to your search to only give you the results posted in the motorcycle/scooters category. Try other keywords like allstate, riverside, piaggio, zundapp, BBW, or whatever else you might be looking for. You should now have something like "allstate mcy site:craigslist.org". Note: "mcy" almost has to be used will allstate since you will find lots of insurance otherwise. Likewise, "scooter" or "wards" should be used with riverside unless you are looking for riversides in Riverside. Advanced: Ok, you are probably tired of seeing posts from all over the county. Search all the locations near you using the OR function. Here is one that is good for Texas- "vespa houston OR dallas OR austin OR sanantonio site:craigslist.org" Use whatever is in the URL of the city you want to add, hence "sanantonio" since the url is sanantonio.craigslist.org. Anyone else have search hints? |

It's pretty simple to use and searches as many cities as you want at once. This can mess up your computer so please be careful. I also search farm auctions. I've found allot of great scoots doing this. I also tend to search VW sites since it seems allot of VW owners end up with old Vespas. Or you can just check my blog from time to time! |
