My DOTD for a $600 P200 turned out to be just meh. Drove 3 hours and got there and somehow the bike magically morphed into a P125X. Still, I was there and wanted a P so I picked it up. Figure $200 into the motor and I'll have a running P series for under $800. I can live with that.

Although often spoken of unfavorably, a DR 180 kit will make a very noticeable difference in performance, especially uphill and against a headwind. It will rattle more, and have a little more exhaust noise. |

That fender looks to be off a sprint. Makes me wonder a bit... I would talk to the owner a bit more about that bike and see what the deal is with that. Other than that, besides the bad two tone, I would say this is a great deal! I am fighting with myself to not go get that bike. The GL is probably one of the only rarer bikes I would go for. Especially since it is not a Rally or a GS...

It is a bummer about the 2 tone combination they did.. I'm sure it's a quality paint job, just not the best choice... bit of a shame... those guys can paint... something else done quality would have been a "RUN THERE NOW" type deal.. still looks like a nice score.

Yeah, it is too contrasty for sure. It looks stupid and does nothing for the lines of the bike. First thing I would do is send the fender to the trash bin. I would chrome the headset. The cowls and proper front fender would go to my powder coater and be matched to the body as closely as possible. Then you would have a nice looking scooter...
Who knows what is going on with the mechanical side though. In my mind you would have to spend another $1,500 just to get this scooter where it needs to be. Still, a GL at $2,250-$3,000 is not bad. |
