I scour the internet daily for scooters and my main source for searching craigslist is using
http://www.crazedlist.org but you have to use Firefox to use the site because you have to go into your computer and change a value. It's pretty simple to use and searches as many cities as you want at once. This can mess up your computer so please be careful. I also search farm auctions. I've found allot of great scoots doing this. I also tend to search VW sites since it seems allot of VW owners end up with old Vespas. Or you can just check my blog from time to time!
Where do you go for farm auctions? I have looked briefly at some of the local storage unit auctions, but never really saw anything interesting listed. Since they are held during the day, it makes it hard for me to get there. I might try your search site when I get home since I don't want to trash my work computer.
I use auctionzip constantly to find great deals. I'll drive 1,000 miles for the right scooter but I usually stay away if there's classic cars there because those guys always have tons of money and like to buy scooters also. During the auction season there's probably 2 to 6 a month listed here
http://www.auctionzip.com I've picked up a 1981 bajaj, a sport 100, a super, and got a lead to a Rally 200 that I got the same day for $100 I never paid more than $500 for any of those scooters. Check it out this spring and summer and you'll see what I mean.
