It is. Really good for the person that can put it all together and likes doing it.

I've always wanted a real smoothy. I had a pre 80's small frame but not quite the same thing.

If its true and all the parts are there, then that is cool. But as soon as you have to get stuff thats missing than the 750 turns into 1200 real quick.

Nope...Clean title, checked vin and DL numbers, the guy was a regular poster on MB trying to figure out his problems but not really able to get it sorted out, couldn't aford parts etc etc. You know posts like, "so you guys told me to get an OEM starter and I bought this aftermarket one because it was cheaper and it doesn't fit"

right now it will kick start, run and die. The starter isn't working. The guy was frustrated trying to fix it himself. I don't often browse MB for sale ads but it was up there for a must sell this week. I heard later that it was up for $500 for a while but I never saw that one.

I figure that I'll try hot wiring the starter to see if it bumps. If not I'll take it apart and see if a cleaning it does any good. Sometimes they just get dirty and the brushes can't make contact. I give it a 50/50 chance of working. If I need to check starter switch etc etc. If not an OEM starter is like $150.

As far as running and cutting out, the coil and CDI have been changed out.
Sometimes the harness gets jammed between the bucket and the frame breaking a wire but not evident on the insulation. I'll spend some time with a VOM and if needed throw in a new stator for like $70

If it is fuel related I have a spare stock Buddy carb. It's not vintage but I have a B125 (well I used to untill Bocette claimed it!) That I kitted to 161.

Buddys are just a total blast to ride! It was just too good a deal to pass on. It's not the first time I've snagged a non runner uber cheap. Picked up a 79 P200 once that had a locked shifter and kept "over reving" for $478. Got it home, cleaned up the shifter tube, put in a fly side seal and was riding it about an hour after I got it home.

There is a P125 on the Charlotte, NC Craigslist. Going for $300 OBO. Says it is a non titled, non running complete scooter. Might be a good project for someone.

Here is a "1970" Rally for a decent price. Could be a good one but one needs to research it a little more with the seller before buying.

What do you mean by headset? The handle bars? In the bicycle world, the headset was the bearings and I know you cannot see those from those pictures.

"... a little dirty but no real rust"...Maybe it's an optical illusion, but the other picture of the left side seems to show that the floorboard is rotted from front to back. Might still be worth the money (I love Rallys!) but if that ain't real rust, how accurate is the rest of his description?

It looks like a regular flywheel with the fins taken off. Why one would do that is beyond me. No more forced air cooling on the cylinder.

i would guess that is part of the reason it is for sale.

i would think a "lightened flywheel" would not mean cutting away the fins?

That's one way to do it... or else it's less and/or lighter material.

minor deal here

Italian made Bosatta headlites pretty cheap on eBay from a guy who sells a lot of NOS Vespa and Ducati stuff.
I've bought from him before, no dissappoint.

Trap headlite for your GL, SS etc here for $7.77 Wha? emoticon

and for some older smallies here for $14.77

Reasonable shipping too.
