The smallie looks okay, but I can't stand when badges are installed incorrectly.

Ok, I know this isn't gonna appeal to many of you, but here's a kitted 2005 Derbi Boulevard with low miles on the top end for 850. Got a windscreen & top case. Might be a good bike for commuting or someone's girlfriend or something.

i read something once about how, early on, scooters were marketed to women due to the step-through frame, where women could wear dresses, go shopping/run errands on a vespa. later had a convo with a motorcyclist about the same thing, but he just thought all scooters were emasculate because of the step through frame/history as it related to it.

I dont give a shit about what others think I ride. I ride for myself and I like scooters. they can keep that kind of opinion to themselves.

The design was never gender based. It actually was a utilitarian design with 3 wheelers and trucks as well.
After sales began small shops in Italy obviously thought about advertising to increase sales. It just so happens that sex sells and woman look great on these things in ads. Start from the beginning. War torn Italy had aircraft manufactures that could turn themselves toward peace times. The Vespa from Piaggio was a concept. At one point Harley Davidson was responsible for helping set up machining for this effort. The whole myth of women and scooters being made for them is nothing more than the mass advertisment that happened. Again.......sex sells. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. |

A guy with a scooter shop around here used to have one similar that he turned into a sno-cone stand for his son to setup shop at rallies.

re: hat on rally. spare turn signal that does not match the others was sitting in the hole where the speedo is not.
Also, it's a '74 - the owner had looked at the wrong old title. Haven't decided if I want to get it running and sell or sell something else and rock a hack for a bit... |

two tone is popular again
Except for the missing motor, this '55 looks to be in pretty good shape, supposed to have been imported from Italy in the '70s. Nice oldie if one happened to have the right motor for it laying around. Up on eBay for $1,650 buy it now or make an offer. |

Portland, Oregon Needs a new horncast, but I bet that paint would buff out real nice. Would be a quick jump from scooterless to scooterist for some lucky bloke. Http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/mcy/3820153700.html[/img] |
