love it! It's so original. That silver paint degrades so quickly, it's amazing to see one that still looks glossy.

it's just up in Healdsburg. Zipcar has vans and pickup trucks... The dealership might deliver it to you too.
Looks really nice! |

I can't drive with my broken shoulder right now. But delivery... hm... I'll communicate with the wife on this. I was thinking of trying to get my paws on a rally, but it's an impressive specimen of a P

Thanks Mud - I should clarify my budget is quite tight and getting a new scoot definitely means getting rid of my old trusty P I broke myself on. Lots to think about (including confirming the condition of my current bike)

Vintage Vespa Scooter 1979 P200E - $2950 (Old Naples)
Complete engine overhaul by Master Vintage Vespa Mechanic Darren Miles of Sarasota, Florida within the last year. Cable lines, gas lines, and brake lines, too were all changed out. I purchased this Vespa in 2001, has rarely been used, and been garage kept. Runs great. A fantastic price at $2950. http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/col/mcy/3973693225.html |

That Indian looks like it should be parked outside a club in South Beach, where it can be appreciated. (not a complement)

RUN don't walk
I have your hundred $ for first dibs on several parts I spied and you get to keep nearly everything. Likely another ~500 worth of parts, if you can't see fixing them both yourself. Maybe save the VBB?, easier to find a motor for. Guessing a VBB & a late widebody, both motorless edit: dang, you had me going =\ |

Well, I hope someone here can snag them if they are close enough.
How hard would it be to get them shipped somehow I wonder or would it even be worth it. |

That's so crazy. That there are so many silver P200s in near perfect original shape in the $2k range. Considering a good paint job (not counting all the work of tearing down/reassembling) can be $1200+

I think so - everyone ditches them... Some day someone who wants a nice of us-spec bike will have trouble finding them.

I'm having a slight conflict about the tractor light. I'm going to paint my bike, and haven't yet decided on whether to weld up the holes, or keep the CEV light.
The new ones (especially the chrome 2011 style) are nice looking, paired with the Prima wrap around rack, but the tractor light and bbq racks are original, and increasingly rare. generally, when you buy a bike, you really want one with the tractor light, because that means no scooterist has molested it. |
