a little sceptical about the "Mods" (always wonder what got broke by fixing) but, some good parts in there. a decent price for a little bit of fixing

this bike was a great deal:
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/mcy/4170141549.html sold for $400, not to me though. i texted him, he was asking $500 or best offer. i told him i was on the way, and when i got there he didnt answer his phone. the next day he said it was sold and that he told me two others were coming, which (of course) he never did. his story changed from (before the sale) that he got it from his neighbor to (after the sale), he got it at a scrap yard, so who knows. i sent him a link to the scooterlounge buyers guide and make him start kicking himself for selling it for so low after screwing me over. whatever. |

I laugh at people who actually use that scooterlounge to base a price.
But in this case, I like it because it makes the turd realize he's a douche. |

Unfortunately not all scooters have pics, but the Rally sounds interesting at 3k and 'original paint' still. |

The Newer Vespa from New Jersey is questionable, mostly because there are a LOT of vehicles in NJ with salvage titles due to the storm they had in 2012. Some may just be wet, needed to dry out, and are fine, while others could have been submerged.
If the engine was filled with water (mmmm, salty water!), it won't last long even if it runs right now. |

If I could justify the spend, and our house in NC had a garage, and I had spare cash and and and, I would be keen to look at that rally in elmhurst. Not sure I could justify to wife or myself. That's not true. I could justify it to myself, I could justify almost anything to myself!

Aside from the non-orig paint, any red flags on this one?

Also, he wrecked the fender a bit so it's dinged up from what I have heard but I haven't seen it in person. It's a shame really cause I mean it's a sweet scoot. Anyhow, now he's asking and has been asking what everyone thinks is too much for a scoot that will need a total motor rebuild and has a dinged up fender. I know some people have talked about different number they've offered him which seemed fair to me but dude doesn't seem to be coming off of his $3k plus asking price. It's really been the laughing stock of the community around here honestly. |

that's a shame. A Rally should be driven and enjoyed and not screwed up. Why the full engine rebuild do you think? If it was done OK and just needs a split and cruciform replacement, or do you think there is worse than that damaged inside?
thanks |

I won a BBQ rack on ebay a week ago for $ 82.00. Not a scratch on It.
Backrest in perfect shape. It was listed as Vespa rack not BBQ rack so, it went unnoticed. It may be to nice to put on my scooter. Good seeing at Bar swap meet last week Vader. |
