Backrest in perfect shape. It was listed as Vespa rack not BBQ rack so,
it went unnoticed. It may be to nice to put on my scooter.

Good seeing at Bar swap meet last week Vader.
Take some plexi or glass, make a top, mount it to the wall next to your comfy TV chair, and it'll be your TV tray! You can put your cell phone down, or the TV remotes (remote if you're up to date w/ technology) there's probably even room for a small glass lamp.. etc etc etc.. you're gonna love it! send pics when it's done!

oh, you'll need some little rubber bumps for between the glass and the rails of the rack! QuickTip! whoohooo!

Mr Anderson? who were you? were you wearing a carnation? did you buy any of my great stuff?

Turn signal gloves
Seems like turn signals gloves would be a good idea at night for a scooter with no turn signals.

If the project gets funded I'm sure the price would go down but you could be the first on your block with a pair. Nerd emoticon

Is this a deal of the day or a request for funding....yeah I thought so.

Not much protection there...but who really needs fingers...and why do I want to let helicopters know which way I'm turning?

Might be good for bicycles and runners...but while riding a vintage scooter? I don't think so. Don't forget the liability factor by encouraging people to use improper hand signals and letting go of the throttle.

^^^ yeah, but if it wasn't stolen, a title is easy to get here. If the motor is any good, that alone is probably worth the price.

If you're jonesing, better get over there tomorrow, wave five fresh $100s around and whine about all the rust.
I almost jonesed, but came to my senses. A frisky & ratty P200 here would be nice though

I found that with a bill of sale, call & get an appointment with Wa. State Patrol inspection office where the VIN will be verified and confirmed not to be listed as stolen(confiscated on the spot if it is, so check before you buy). When all this is done & you pay the usual transfer fees (no previous year back tab fees in this the state) and they send you a provisional title that becomes permanent after 3 years if still not reported stolen.

My Primavera becomes 100% mine next year and it was pretty easy. What happened to you?

Checked VIN with local DMV office, no reports, no listing of a title for that VIN in the state, So bought with bill of sale. Took rig to state patrol for inspection, no joy...Vin listed to owner in Utah, had to send registered letter to last known, reply was from estate saying could not release until rest of family notified, tried several times with no each time. Last I heard two family members believe Dad got had when he gave the rig away now they think its worth big bucks..... (can you say they saw "Pickers" on TV ).

No title... no problem.
I use to pass on scoots without a title.
However, I can't believe how easy and fast it is to get a title.

First...
In Oregon, DMV does not have records if anything has been stolen. This information can only be acheived through the local police or The National Insurance Crime Bureau.

https://www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud_awareness/vincheck

If anything has been reported stolen, NICB will have records of it unless it has been within a couple weeks of theft, so it is not an up to date/real time.
This is what I have been told by the local police.

Once you find out that it is not stolen, apply for a title through Vermont DMV. Anything under 500cc does not require a VIN verification. Just fill out the appropriate paperwork, send in your $89 dollars and about a week later you have a Vermont registration with license plate. This is good enough fo rthe State of Oregon to title a previously non titled scooter.

http://dmv.vermont.gov/help#REG_Register_motorcycle

I've done this twice. Easy peasy.
As long as the scooter isn't stolen, a title can be obtained quick.

The Vermont deal works, is perfectly legal and relatively cheap. Seen it done successfully several times. My Smallframe included.

Thanks gujuk,

I think I was being a bit flippant in that previous post. I "need" some more bikes, but probably a more vintage project here for the kids and I to work on, and a decent runner in NC makes more sense. Less tools there, no garage. Sigh. working on the wife. Mentioning how good it would be to have a decent lock up in the back yard. She sees the point! Now to pay for it.

I see that Rally in WDC (Mt pleasant or something) has dropped from 3k to 2600. Presuming it is as people describe, seems a very good buy as long as someone doesn't mind splitting the engine straight away.

The crux is fucked on that bike....otherwise it's a sweet restoration. I noticed it had dropped too. Let's be honest, YOU NEED IT! Go by my life mantra, it's easier to ask forgiveness later than to ask for permission now....the wife will understand.

Its always hard to pass up cheap or reasonably priced scoots..... I got no lock up and my daughters still toying with lego.. But she does get excited everytime a motorbike buzzez by so im workin on the misses to get projects lined up for when she is, well, a bit older. That and a decent sized shed should keep her out of trouble when shes a teenager !
