exactly, and i know the feeling. i bought a $900 rally 180 once...
the only reason i mention this is because i have intimate knowledge of a 74 rally that the client was waffling on whether or not to sell off. it had been sitting since the mid 90's, needed major electrical work, and all of the soft parts replaced. so... figure on tires, tubes, brakes, a tank boil, tap, fuel sys rebuild, battery, cables, and then get into the motor with whatever else and all of a sudden a 1500 rally becomes a 3000~3500 rally... when you could have bought a running, tagged and titled bike for 2800!
