1974 Rally 200
Description Un-restored Rally all original in great shape. New gas tank and full mechanical restoration at Vespa of Chicago with less than 200 miles since re-build. I have been all over Italy, Viet Nam and all parts of Europe and have never seen a better example. Turn signals and speed odometer not functioning but original. One ding on front cowl quite minor.
Location Battle Creek
Phone 269 209 1859
No price, but within (close) driving distance.

Kinda taking liberties with the word "all original," though.

Yeah, I was just reacting to the lack of Rally stripes, which makes me think maybe the whole thing's been resprayed, and then the marker lights on the front fender (which I doubt were wired up, but you never know). There's part of a rack bracket sticking out on back -- where'd the rack go, and why not take the bracket off with it? The black turning signal stems are actually kinda a nice touch, but still, calling it all original, and stating it's better than any Rally he's seen in Vietnam just sets off the bullshit klaxons in my head.

But if he's asking $2000, and there's documentation re: the engine rebuild, then none of that stuff would bother me too much.

Yep, missing stripes means respray for sure
Turn signals should indeed be chrome
Reflector/light on the front fender is wrong... there should be a reflector there but not that one
Missing the rubber around the site glass for oil tank

Overall looks like a nice scoot though.

1962 VBA?
External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

1962 VBA, 3 speed. Runs great, starts first kick. She has some scratches, a few dings, and a little bit of rust (no cancer though). Not perfect, but no city scooter is. Rides straight, stops great, and actually is pretty quick and fun to ride. Current title in hand. Looking for $1600 obo. Thanks
Location Portland, Oregon
LINK

According to scooter lounge, the VBA was replaced in 1960 by the VBB. The three speed is right, but is the vintage?

I'm actually headed for Portland tomorrow ...

If it really goes 60 then I bet you don't find a stock 2 port engine in there....

If its a proper smallframe owner, you shouldnt keep a stock engine, but a primavera is the only smallie I'd /want/ to own. TravisNJ has one, same color and such so I can glean that that bike is a really well maintained original 125.

Pretty good deal as far as nyc goes. Some of the scoots listed on the nyc clist are just ridiculous. Most of them are full restos anyway. No fun in that. I would pick this up but one project is already taking up enough of my time. I swear I'll get around to starting my college essay soon

The seat cover was the only reason I bought it!
Let me see what it is covering and if things are in good shape you got it!
