This person soft-seized and lost compression, so now they're selling an otherwise-working 2005 Stella for $525. It looks a hell of a lot better than mine, probably lower-miles too. |

Here is a '66 VBB that just showed up.
FOR SALE in Greensboro, NC: 1966 Vespa VBB 150CC (180). Restored from "rust bucket" status from 2005 to 2009, this VBB has an upgraded '65 VLA1 motor with DR 180 cylinder and electronic ignition (engine rebuilt by Joe Casola/Saint Cycle Works). To enhance handling and suspension, a PK style fork was added and fork stops correctly modified for the VBB by Joe Casola. Entire body was sandblasted, rust damage welded, and properly painted. Put back together by Greensboro Scooter connoisseur Aaron LeBauer and Alex Maness. Barely 100 miles since restoration and clear NC title in hand. Asking 2450.00 or best offer (will entertain reasonable offers). Restoration process well documented and can supply more pictures. Will also provide scooter repair & maintenance books (Haynes Manual and other materials), 2-stroke oil and spare parts and wheel. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/4774388203.html ![]() ![]() |

That's out there, $55K for a GS150, but I also thought $5K for a GS160 was a reach. Considering one is knocking on the door of $10K on e-bay currently, who knows? A lot of these bikes have been under valued for a good while and some they made too damned many. Finding an older rare bike that's all there and unmolested is becoming more of a chore these days and putting one right far exceeds the end return. We saw this with automobiles in the 80s and early 90s before they went to the moon. Maybe the classic scooter and bike market is getting ready for a route?

I know it's not a Vespa, but ...
Barn find on scoot.net.
Quote: Li150 original paint great shape Description I bought this one owner Li150 for a winter project. A very original very straight low mile barn find. The paint cleans up very nicely and it will be a great original paint patina scooter. Very very few scratches and imperfections. Not perfect but as close as they get these days. Right now it has 40 years of dirt and some light surface rust speckling. No real rust, even under. It cleans up great. It turns over and has very good spark. I took the dirty tank out this morning and carb with the intention of getting it started. I'm just too busy for this project and have enough scooters. It will be sold with a current state registration and Bill of Sale. $2750. I will throw in some of the usual parts that will be needed to get this back running and looking good. Email your name and phone number or I will not respond. Thanks. Location New Hampshire Phone ![]() |

why ship an engine with the crank exposed like that?
just screw in the stator and then bolt on the flywheel, it takes like 10 minutes to do. |
